I am 37 years old and I love working out and helping others live healthier lifestyles. I love it so much that about 4 years ago, I became a Certified Personal Trainer and about 2.5 years ago a Certified Group Fitness Instructor! Now, let me tell you, fitness has not always been an interest of mine. If someone would have told me 15 years or so ago that I would become these things, I would have laughed and said PLEASE!! Me? Ha! I love to eat! All the bad stuff was good to me! lol But one day, a light bulb came on when I looked in the mirror and saw that my unhealthy eating habits were starting to really take a toll on me. I had gained weight, was tired all the time, lazy, stressed, you name it, I felt it. So June 2002 or 2003, I decided to join the gym. Oh was I excited because I was ready to make a change. I worked out consistently for a while and after that, I was GIVING the gym money every month because I was not going and was back to the same ole thing. Yep, I fell off!
Fast foward about a year from that, I ended up getting a personal trainer and buddy trained with a girlfriend of mine and that is when the fitness bug hit me. I worked hard, I was seeing results that I liked!! BUT it was not until I made up in my mind that I wanted to change, I changed. I had every excuse in the book and most times, we all do. But making excuses didn't get me anywhere but back in those size 14 jeans! HA! So again, I made my mind up to go hard or go home and I have been at it ever since! It was tough and I still had my up and down times but I refused to give up and now it's part of my life! Without exercise I would be CRAZY!! :-) So, if I can do it, you can too!! I have learned that ANYTHING you put your mind to, you can do.
I love the saying "IN ORDER TO HAVE SOMETHING YOU'VE NEVER HAD, YOU HAVE TO DO SOMETHING YOU'VE NEVER DONE". That is so true. So with that being said, I encourage you to go ahead and take that first step toward being healthier. You may fall of every now and again but dust yourself off and keep trying until you get it! Go hard, be consistent and disciplined. Don't make excuses because they are nails to build a house of failure. But if you stick with it, you will be sooo glad you did!
