My fitness has varied over the years. For awhile, I was the last kid picked for everything. I started Tae Kwon Do, and then went on to join the wrestling and football team in high school. I even played lacrosse for a short time at Syracuse University. Despite this, my weight and health varied as the real world hit.
I periodically studied Kenpo karate, and competed in tournaments around the world, and am able to describe myself as a world champion martial artist. I worked to become a Master Scuba Diver Trainer. Again, though my fitness varied as life happened.
Of course, I spent thousands of dollars on gym memberships over the years. They did little good as I traveled for work, or didn't feel like driving to the gym and hope that the equipment I wanted to use was available and in good condition.
The first time I saw the P90X infomercials, I was intrigued. Not only did P90X produce results, it had Kenpo, Plyometrics, and Yoga incorporated into the program. Kenpo of course was great for me, but I always heard how plyometrics and yoga were incredible for fitness. I finally ordered the DVDs after seeing the infomercial for the third time. I probably wasted $200 in gym fees between the first time I saw the infomercial and the time I ordered P90X.
P90X was everything I hoped it would be. I was disappointed that I only lost 7 pounds, but that was balanced with the fact I lost 4 inches around my waist. I dont think I was ever healthier in my life. It was the first time I ever stuck with an exercise program, especially a 90 day one.
I went on to use 10-minute Trainer, Insanity, Hip Hop Abs, and Turbo Jam, and saw how they were valuable to people, including me.
Then when I saw the Facebook P90X group, and started participating, I realized that not only do I like to stay fit, I like to help people become fit even more. All of the health, fitness, nutrition, and related information I studied throughout my life, because useful to others. That convinced me to become a coach.
So if you have any questions at all, please ask. While I will likely know the answer, if I dont, I will find someone who will.
