I am a 43 year old guy trying to stay focused. I have been in much better condition in the past couple years and am currently trying to refocus myself and get back to where I was prior to a shoulder injury two years ago. This will happen and I will return to my former Beachbody fit level I enjoyed. I am married and have 2 children, a 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son. I also have 3 older

When I first join Beachbody I was 262 pounds and was hovering around 36% body fat. I had always tried to maintain some form of physical fitness and somehow had lost control of myself in a short period of time and within 5 years had found myself a total mess physically. My cholesterol was around 270 and at last check my triglycerides were well over 1000! I was headed for a heart attack and new if I didn’t do something about it, it would happen. It was time to find a solution!

I joined a costume group in 2007 that modeled fitness and heath as a priority. The costume rewards was to dress as the Spartan warriors portrayed in the movie 300. I met my good friend Marc Martinez in the group and he turned me on to P90X in the fall of 2007. I remember the first time trying to do the program and feeling it was a physical impossibility. There were times that I felt maybe I just was not in good enough shape to complete it, but I refused to give up.

I continued to use the program and completed three total rounds of P90X. Within that time period I saw my weight drop to about 215 and my body fat to about 16%! I then decided it was time to go up a level and have just finished a round of P90X+. I have purchased most of Tony Horton’s One on One Workouts as well and have used them intermittently throughout my regimens.

I also enjoy other cross-fit stylized workouts and have been looking forward to starting the new Insanity Program coming out soon!

My continued goal is to improve my cardiovascular fitness, and maintain my lean muscle mass and maybe drop another percent or two in body fat. With that goal in mind I have just recently started my first round of Insnaity!

It has been a long road and as Tony has said, “Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither is your body!” It is so important to push play every day and give all you got to the workouts. They are there for you to do, but you must DO them and not hope the workouts themselves will transform you with little effort. Make the sweat flow, collapse on the floor in total exhaustion and you will see yourself transform as I have.

I have been blessed to be a part of the Beachbody community and have since joined as an Independent Beachbody Coach in hopes to bring fitness and health to as many people as I can. I finished my courses for personal trainer and will be certified by the end of the summer. I also plan to further my educattion by pursuing a degree in exercise physiology and physical education! It’s awesome how something like this can totally change your outlook on life and create new habits!

Keep pushing play!
