I've been through the revolving diet and fitness door, like many of you, a number of times. After my daughter was born in 2005, I managed to lose some of the 60 pounds I had gained during pregnancy, but the rest seemed to hang around...and hang around. By the fall of 2007, I managed to lose most of it, but without the proper level of support and accountability that I needed, I gained much of the weight back. And then I became pregnant with my son, who was born early in 2010. Again, some of 60+ pound I gained came off - choosing sleep over food, as many moms of newborns do - but that was short-lived.
Life became busier with two kids, and I went back to work at a demanding job. And I didn't take care of myself. As a result, I became rundown and overwhelmed. And I turned to food as a reward system. Anytime, any reason - I deserved it. By the fall of 2010, my weight continued to slowly creep up. I had seen infomercials for P90X and Insanity, but at the time I told myself that there was no way I could keep up with that kind of workout. So I ordered Power 90, but I kept it up for only a couple of weeks. At the time, I had never heard of Teambeachbody.com, so I didn't know about the wonderful support and accountability system that the website had to offer.
And so on I went...countless extra-large burritos, cheeseburgers, and pizzas later, I hit 200 pounds in the summer of 2011. At that point, I decided I had had enough and cleaned up my diet and began to exercise on my own. A few months later, I discovered Team Beachbody and decided to commit to a higher level of fitness. I had looked at the programs on the website, but was undecided between P90X and Chalean Extreme. I took my question to the message boards, where I got a quick response from the person who soon after became my coach. I ended up choosing choosing Chalean Extreme, and I love it! Then with the encouragement of my coach, I became a coach myself. With her support and that of the TeamBeachbody.com community, I know I will never go back to the person I was before.
If I can do it, you can do it! And I will be here to help you every step of the way.
