March 21, 2009. Eighteen months ago I decided to succeed but never really committed to it fully. After returning from the second annual Beachbody Summit a few days ago, I have changed my way of thinking. I have DECIDED to COMMIT to this fully so that I can SUCCEED. I have basically started over with new measurements and have completed the first week of Hip Hop Abs and lost 4 pounds.

May 11, 2009. Hip Hop Abs is harder than I thought it would be. I am 60 and it took me 40 years to get out of shape so it will take some time to get back in shape. I have lost an additional 8 pounds in the last 50 days. We went on a 10 day cruise in April and I actually worked out 7 of those days – on the balcony as the ship was pulling into port. What a way to see the surrounding area and start the day off.

July 19, 2009. Still doing Hip Hop Abs and love it. We just returned today from a 10 day stay in our hometown in Nebraska. My brother and niece are holding free workout classes there, three times a day, in the basement of the church we were married in 40 years ago – how cool is that. I actually worked out with them most of the days we were there. I have only lost 2 pounds since May 11, but that’s OK because the weight is just moving around. I still want to get to 199 by Aug 28– I turn 62 then and can’t remember the last time I was under 200. We are going on a 16 day cruise to Alaska in August so that will be a challenge to work out and watch the diet.

August 26, 2009. Just returned from our Alaska cruise, had a great time and did not lose any weight, but did not gain any either. Ten of the 16 days I actually worked out on the balcony of our stateroom with Hip Hop Abs.

October 23, 2009. Have continued to work out with Hip Hop Abs and my weight is still right at 215. I’m taking a week off.

November 19, 2009. Bad news, I have been diagnosed with lung cancer, so looks like our exercise program will be on hold for a while.

January 6, 2010. Today I had surgery in La Jolla, CA and hopefully they got all of the cancer.

February 10, 2010. I had my checkup today and am now cancer FREE – hooray. Not sure when I can really start working out again.

March 30, 2010, started Hip Hop Abs again but very slow.

June 1, 2010 - Today we start a 10 day cruise to Alaska - our 5th time there. I’m back to full steam again and doing Hip Hop Abs. I brought it with me so I will share it with others.
