I have been overweight my whole life. My mother's side of the family is overweight so I thought there was nothing I could do to change it, it was in my genes. My self-steem was not the greatest, therefore I became very shy and insecure as I was growing up.

One day, I saw some pictures I was tagged in on Facebook. I was horrified! The image I saw was not the one I saw in the mirror every day. I had a triple chin, my arms were huge, my belly was as big as if I was pregnant, and above all, I looked old. I was mortified and decided it was time to take action.

A friend of mine was married to a Beachbody coach. She posted her transformation pictures and would always post about exercise and nutrition. I contacted her and asked for help. I could not do this by myself, as I had always failed in the past. She said she would be there to support me every step of the way, but that I must be commited to reach my goals.

Fast forward 6 weeks, I lost 11 lbs with Slim in 6 and Shakeology. Then the Ultimate Reset was released. After 21 days I lost another 14 lbs. I was on a roll, no way I was turning back to my old habits. Fitness and nutrition became a new way of life for me. My relationship with food changed so much. Food is no longer my friend, a reason to be happy. Food is now my fuel and exercise is the oxygen I need to live.

The support from my coach and the Facebook groups has been key to my success. I am now ready to pay if forward by helping others transform their lives.

Even though I am a work in progress, I hope to be able to make people see that they are powerful, that they can change the way they feel, think, and look.
