I'm a 46 year old single Mom of 4 active kids, ages 15, 11, 9 & 3. I also work full time, so exercise tends to take a back seat to other activities. Growing up I was farily athletic, and being on the tall side, it was easy to let the pounds creep on without noticing it too much. There has been no lack of reasons (ok...excuses) for not taking better care of myself... stresses over kids,

In 2006, I was blessed with my 4th child at age 43, but also found myself facing an imminent divorce, financial worries and family needs which took all of my energy and left me 25 lbs overweight and lacking muscle tone. I had very poor eating habits due to my overscheduled, on-the-go life, and didn't make time for exercise. I watched my kids play sports and wished I could be that active again.

Fortunately, the insomnia that plagued me is exactly what brought Beachbody to me in the form of the many 5am-ish infomercials, which were just intriguing enough to send me (a certifiably CYNICAL SKEPTIC) online to find out more. There, I saw too many incredible "before" and "after" pics and stories to ignore, so I made the call, and on Jan 8, 2010 I started P90X, in my "home gym" (read: "small space between my living room sofa and TV"). As I write this I'm only at around Day 70 of my 90 day program, but am so happy with my results that I've planned my next program (INSANITY :) yikes!) and decided to become an Independent Team Beachbody Coach.

I hope that I will be able to provide the same encouragement and support to others that has helped me to arrive where I am today. I thought I was knowledgable about fitness and nutrition before this, but the finer points that I learned about both through the Beachbody online message boards about the nutrition was TRULY INVALUABLE to my progress. I just can't stress this enough, and urge anyone who feels the message boards might be "fluff" or inconsequential to their success to reconsider. If you have plateaued in your current fitness regimen irrespective of what this may be, you will find valuable advice there.

Since January I've lost almost 20lbs and a few clothing sizes all around. The before/efter photos you see to the left show my progress from are DAY 1 and DAY 30. I've never felt better and get up at 5am for my workout with the energy level of my kids (WITHOUT my morning coffee, I swear!). I drink Shakeology daily as a meal replacement, and find it very beneficial and true to it's claims. My nutrition has improved (but NO dieting), my ability to concentrate and focus has sharpened, and I feel, well, really WELL in every sense of the word.

Bottom line... if I can do this, anyone can...
