Aurora, CO Hi guys! My name is Lourdes Hernandez. I've started back on my journey a couple of months ago, but really decided to commit about 3 weeks ago. Since really committing, I've lost 12.5 lbs and it's continueing to fall off! I feel better than I've felt in years. I've been away from the game for a couple of years, so you can just imagine how intimidating it was for me to Hi guys! My name is Lourdes Hernandez. I've started back on my journey a couple of months ago, but really decided to commit about 3 weeks ago. Since really committing, I've lost 12.5 lbs and it's continueing to fall off! I feel better than I've felt in years. I've been away from the game for a couple of years, so you can just imagine how intimidating it was for me to really start moving again. There's a point all of us reach when we just KNOW it's time, and we say good-bye to the excuses and decide to get healthy and fit. This is where I'm at now. In three weeks I've managed to change my body and my attitude! Imagine what I could do in 6 weeks...in 12. I feel like it will only get better. Any and every positive action is a step in the right direction. I've decided to stop wishing for something to change, and MAKE the change happen myself. I've decided I'm worth it! I want to help others realize they are worth it too!
I live in the Mile High City, Aurora, CO. (Just outside of Denver.) If there is anyone in the area who is getting started and would like to buddy up or just wants a sounding board for questions, I'm here! If you're not in the area, and want to buddy up online or need any help at all, no matter how little or small, I'm here!
I am happily married to the most amazing man in the world! (In my opinion! haha) He's a huge motivator for me and also helps to keep me accountable. He's also very much into fitness and nutrition. We've been together for 9 years and married for almost 5 of those years. When we first met, we were both gym rats! We lived at the gym!! As the years went by, he remained on the fitness path, while I gave in to stress eating and becoming overwhelmed by work stressors. It took me a couple of years to realize that I had taken away the one thing that helped me cope best and helped me maintain my peace of mind despite life's stressors...that was exercise and eating right. This was my defense against all of these things that were bringing me down.
Once I made this realization, I knew what I had to do. And here I am! Believe me when I say, I know how hard it is to get started, either for the first time or after being away for awhile. All I can say is, for me, it started with just one workout. Then two...three. All of a sudden I needed it again. It truly is a way of life.
