My name is DAVIDR (DA-VI-DAR) and I am 22 years old. My life has been a roller-coaster these past few years...
First I should say that I was never over weight as a child. In fact, I was in amazing shape...I had the body of a college jock at age 13 and maintained it effortlessly until the age of 18 when I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. As soon as I started Chemo and Radiation my body began to change. Understandably I became less and less active and my metabolism dropped. I went from weighing 145-150lbs to 300lbs within 6 months...think thats shocking? .....thats not all! ...6 months later I reached the heaviest and most traumatic stage of my life weighting at 450lbs. Not only was this painful to me physically, but emotionally as well.

After almost 18 months of various cancer treatments, I was cleared healthy enough to resume my normal life (300lbs heavier, of course). I did not give up. I found courage within and I tried every diet out there to looses weight...and I succeeded! Within a year I lost 280lbs and I have kept it off for 3 years now.

My goal now is to tone-up and reach "Hunk" status again. I feel a little overwhelmed with the idea of starting a hardcore physical routine like P90X. I am very disciplined with my eating habits (that is not an issue)...its more the idea of keeping up with the plan (not fallinhg off the wagon), and any pain/ soreness i might experience (which i know is a small price to pay for what i want to achieve!)

I need a lot of motivational support from people. I figure I have been through more intense things in my life (like cancer)....If I survived that, then I can succeed in this challenge too, right?
