I have always been active in sports growing up. Enjoyed cheerleading, volleyball, Cycling, working out, and "hip hop" dancing with my sister Connie four nights a week. We even competed in dance competitions. I consistently weighed about 120 back then without dieting. Boy do I miss those days! I work full time as a counselor working various positions over the past 21 years for a State Agency. I have always been active in sports growing up. I remember when I started at 18 years old, I thought "I will never look frumpy when I'm 35 yrs old and I'll always be active." Years passed, and my neglect in not watching my lifestyle, I became that "frumpy" 39 yr woman. I have always been active in sports prior to marriage in 1999. I worked out daily, it was just normal for me. I would also add in 10 mile rollerblading, cycling 26 miles to work instead of driving, running the track, even volunteering at the Y for children's gymnastics. I enjoyed competitions, achieving over 50 medals in various areas including fitness aerobics, volleyball, cycling, bench press, arm wrestling, those are just a few! In 1993, I severely damaged my knee in competition while doing an obstacle course. I had ACL reconstructive surgery and several others, however it never stopped me from competing, dancing, or even learning how to downhill ski. My husband John has always been into training. Our daughter was born in 2001 and our son in 2002, so close in age was exciting, but also made it feel like we had twins! The challenge was on with sleep deprivation, diapers, the "daily routine" of just taking care of children. No longer having time for ourselves or each other. I sacrificed the gym as I felt like I was "working out" at home. When they had their naps, I would fill that time with chores around the house rather than ME time!

I went from a "workout fanatic" to "disheartened" and "frustrated". I would tell everyone the size of my butt was not my priority anymore, and that my children were. But reality is, I went from a 5 foot woman who was 120 lbs to a 5 foot woman who was weighing 175lbs. That was the same weight when I delivered the kids, but the weight never came off. Finally, I signed up for a gym 3.5 yrs ago. After 1.5 yrs of consistently working out, I only lost 1 lb. My doctor said, "Well, you are getting older", but my obsession with Mt Dew for the past 20 yrs wasn't helping me any either. My sister Christine works with Chalene Johnson the creator or Turbo Jam and Turbo Kick! With her additional involvement with being with Beachbody, I have finally been inspired to be accountable for ME! I have taken care of my family, my extended family, my friends too long. I have to be accountable now to myself, my husband, and my kids. I am working towards improving my lifestyle in fitness and healthy eating. My husband John is a great motivator as well for me since he has always been into fitness and he too is a Beachbody coach! We are accountable to ourselves as well as helping others be accountable for their goals. Take charge of your life! Being a coach is changing mine. This is taking me from the typical falling off the wagon approach, to always jumping back on and finally seeing the importance of my health! I am so excited to be a part of this company where we can encourage others into making that choice in their life. Sign up to be a coach with me and you will notice YOU are taking charge of YOU!
