I have been a teacher of special education students for 10 years. Teaching in this field has TAUGHT me many, many things: perseverance, patience, the amazing power of the human spirit, a never-give-up attitude, the knowledge that no matter what the disability, expectations should be high and never compromised...the list goes on and on.

I love teaching; it's who I am and what I do above all else.

I never had weight issues until my 1st child was born. I had gestational diabetes and an emergency c-section (not a bikini cut, unfortunately!). After 2 more children and 2 more c-sections and back More ...
I never had weight issues until my 1st child was born. I had gestational diabetes and an emergency c-section (not a bikini cut, unfortunately!). After 2 more children and 2 more c-sections and back surgery, I was depressed and had no time to focus any energy on me.

I decided to take back some control of my life and reentered college to study for my teaching degree. I had spare time between classes, and since the drive home was too long, I started going to the gym at the college. A whole new world opened up for me. I expanded my social circle, got involved in other activities and finally "found" myself again. When I finished college, I had lost almost 30 lbs. I have managed to lose another 10-15 in that time by joining my local gym, playing volleyball, and chasing after kids!

I would still like to lose another 20-25 lbs. (those same 10 keep coming back!)and continue to tone and tighten as much as possible. I have the ups and downs that I think we all experience, but I am determined to get my problem areas (thighs, stomach, back of arms) toned and lean. My biggest issue is portion control...I love food!
