When I started my summer, I was creeping up on 210lbs. That would have been the heaviest I have ever been. I had always been able to maintain my weight around 185lbs, since my college days. Finally at 40, I was no longer maintaining.
I started by jogging the first 2 months and lost about 10lbs, but could lose no more. Then I started talking to my brother, who was completing the P90X workout and he was now 175lbs and lean. Well, I never believe in anything, unless I can make it work for me, so I took on the P90x challenge.
In October of 2009, I started working out at 5:30am and figured that I would give this my all. In November of 2009, I ran my first 5k for the year, felt really good and finished in 24:30. Got my body fat checked and I was still 22% bf. Not what I expected and disappointed. I figured I would try harder.
In December of 2009, I ran the second race and finished in 22:56. I was getting faster, but was I now looking better. I got my body fat checked and now I was 10.7% bf. That was a big confidence boost.
At the end of my 90 days I was 174lb and 9.2% bf. I had never found a program that worked for me, but this one did.
