I am a 59-year-old grandmother who looks forward to sprinting through airports for many years to come. My husband and I have three grown children and a beautiful granddaughter - but the problem for me is that they live in Arizona, California, and Shanghai, China! So since I live in upstate New York, my visits involve stressful and grueling air travel, not to mention those frequent sprints

My transformation did not have to do with losing weight. I "transformed" when I turned 40. Before that, I got away with being thin, but not necessarily fit. At age 40 I was inspired by my More ...
My transformation did not have to do with losing weight. I "transformed" when I turned 40. Before that, I got away with being thin, but not necessarily fit. At age 40 I was inspired by my daughter's high school track and cross country teams to begin running. I am NOT an athlete - but I thought, "I can do that!" I started a lap at a time on the track and worked my way up to a regular 3 mile running routine. Road races are really popular where I live and I have now been running for 20 years. I have participated in many 5K races and have run the Utica 15K Boilermaker Road Race for 17 consecutive years, this past year with two other Beachbody coaches. The highlights of my running career where when in 1996 and 2002 I was selected to carry the Olympic torch in the Olympic Torch Relays for the Atlanta Summer Olympics and Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. I would love to train for marathon someday....
But about three years ago I decided running, while awesome for cardio, wasn't enough. I needed to work on core, strength, and toning. That's when became interested in Beachbody through family members who were part of it. I am now enjoying the Slim in 6, Power 90, and Yoga Booty programs. I can work out in the comfort of my home (and in upstate New York when the snow flies, home is the only place to be, and running outside is impossible). The Beachbody approach has been a great way for me to maintain my fitness for those airport sprints, and the support of the Beachbody community keeps me on track.
