Time to update my profile...I am still working as a hospitalist in Oregon going on 7 years now. I have mixed feelings about where we are headed in the healthcare industry. I see us not proactively addressing the looming healthcare crisis that we face as a nation. Our lack of preventative solutions to the obesity problem facing us is unacceptable.

Wow, where to start...I got motivated to start working out by my wife Linda who got in fantastic shape before she hurt her back in a spinning class. I use to love lying on the sofa eating chips while she worked out. Those were the days. Then one night at the hospital I saw an infomercial for Power 90. That program changed my life and my destiny. I felt like I could do that program for 90 days and if the people on the program could do it so could I. My wife encouraged me to do something anything before my weight got even higher. My brother died last year from complications of diabetes and my wife didn't want me developing diabetes. Well the early days were rough but I stuck with it, and after two weeks it started to get just a tiny bit easier to do. What's important to note is the more I participated in the program the better my results were. When I joined the club things really took off. Linda and I went to Fitness camp in LA and had a blast. Linda was very skeptical at first and thought going to a fitness camp for an anniversary was just plain wrong. She was also leary about working out after her back surgery that she had the previous year. Boy did we have a great time and Tony helped us both to modify activities so as to prevent injuries. I developed a plantar fascitiitis (can you say ouch!!) doing P90X and almost had to stop as well. I could barely walk after doing some of the cardio. So instead of stopping I modified and was able to do Slim in 6 without any heel pain (Thanks Debby) So far I've lost 40 lbs and get lots of compliments at work. Since becoming a coach I am helping my friends at work to get started and we're having a blast. I will be doing a 6 week course this January at my church and I'm developing a preventative medicine lecture series to give community lectures. My church will sponser me to do a community fitness and nutriton program that will start early next year. My goal is to resign from my practice within the next two years and MDB has made it possible for me to do this. It's exciting to see what pressing play can do for you. I am so grateful to this company for the committment to helping people achieve their own peak performance. Thank you
