Porterville, CA I'm a 30 year old mother of a very sweet, high energy little boy. I work a swing shift, full time as a graphic artist for the local newspaper. My husband of 6 years has also done P90X.

When my son was about 6 months old and I was trying to take off the baby weight and more, I started having joint pain. I thought it was just normal aches and pains, until it got so bad I could hardly get out of bed. I tested positive for Lyme Disease and was treated, but some of my symptoms lingered. My Rheumatologist suspects an autoimmune disorder considering my near constant fatigue.
Since my little boy was born I've lost 50lbs and have done various things to get fit. Most the weight was lost walking and running. I want to be able to run a 5k. While I can jog 3 miles easily, I decided I need to strength train to be able to get to be fit enough to actually be competitive. I also need to loose at least 15lbs.
So I'm doing P90X.
Oh, and I also have some inkling to become a coach. But I want to be an example and get through the program first!

I've been working on my "transformation" since I had my son over 2 years ago and tipped the scales at 215 at my heaviest pregnancy weight. At 5'1", this was not good, pregnant or not. I developed preclampsia, was taken off work end ended up with a c-section.
My now 30 year old body is riddled with stretch marks across my thighs, belly, hips and lower back. But I'm now maintaining 135 and have dipped lower when I really focus on eating right and working out.
I got to this point by first walking everyday with my son in a stroller, doing my Abs Diet for Women work out video and modifying my diet. I eventually started running almost every day, completing a self-challenge over 50 miles in February. I also started doing some of the P90X videos with my husband. KenpoX is easily my favorite.
One of my biggest motivators was when my son was about 10-12 months old, I started having severe arthritis. It started in my shoulders, moved to my hips, wrists, fingers, toes... to the point I could hardly get out of bed in the morning. Between my doctor and my Rheumatologist, we're still not sure if it was Lyme disease or an Autoimmune disease. After months of pain, medications and tests, I'm determined to never let my body deteriorate to that point again.
Though I still get my labs done and work with my doctors, I've found the most relief in modifying my diet and exercise. I've recently done the 28 Day Break Free plan created by nutritionists Leanne Ely of SavingDinner.com and JJ Virgin. Cutting out Dairy and gluten has freed me from my fatigue, most my digestive issues and greatly reduced my arthritis.
Now that I'm only about 3 pounds overweight, and I've been freed from my fatigue and other diet caused symptoms, I'm ready for the next challenge.
I recently met a P90X coach, and he mentioned how much my area was in need of coaches and suggested my husband look into it since he's completed the program. This got me thinking, I'm finally at a point that I can do the program myself. I'm REALLY into nutrition... and would love to be a coach myself. So, I've decided I'm going to do the P90X program with the goal in mind of coaching. What ever results I get are definitely an added benefit, but I'd love to also encourage people to do what I've done to change my life for the better.
