Waukesha, WI I'm an Information Technology professional, and I spend a lot of time sitting at a desk. My weight has gone up and down on a yearly cycle, and I joined BeachBody to do something about it. My goal is to get fit and stay that way.
Wanting a change from my usual equipment assisted weights and elliptical cardio, I started reading up on P90X that I've heard others talk about. Wanting a change from my usual equipment assisted weights and elliptical cardio, I started reading up on P90X that I've heard others talk about. The more I read, the more the whole nutrition, fitness guide, and P90X seemed to be just what I didn't know I needed! Having completed a round of P90X classic and a round of Insanity, I ordered Asylum to mix things up further. Fast forward past Asylum and Asylum/P90X hybrid, and on to dabbling in P90X2 before a start with CoachGregA and Team Engage beginning in January 2012.
And then came the DVT/PE in early February 2012. Life threatening blood clot situation. So far it's looking like I'll be a lifer of anti-coagulants. Started over with X2 on 4/22 hoping it'll be uneventful, and I can safely get back to the shape I was in.

Round 1 of P90X classic is complete, and I'm a believer. I was a late addition to CoachGregA's Team Engage thread on the forum, and I'm glad I didn't hesitate longer. My recorded weight when starting the program was 210 pounds with an estimated 26% body fat. My final measurements for Round 1 completion on 6/16/2011 came in at 187 pounds and 18% body fat. While I did the classic version, I also included extra time on the elliptical for extra calorie burn. KenpoX bothers my previously injured shoulder (SLAP) so I also swapped it for time on the elliptical. The elliptical probably doesn't work the core like KenpoX, but it was a necessary trade off.
Having met many fine folks in CoachGregA's P90X thread, a number of them became coaches. When it came time for Insanity, CoachBadDog AKA Chris fired up a thread, and I jumped in. I finished Insanity on 9/5 having lost another ten pounds and another few percent of body fat. My concerns about Insanity not working muscles like P90X were laid to rest and led to my purchase of Asylum to dig even deeper.
Back posting with CoachGregA and Asylum completed, it was a fabulous program that combined strength and agility with Insanity. I can't say enough about these routines other than what a bargain for such results. I'm now on to a round of an Asylum/P90X hybrid and loving the challenge.
