I have always been active since I was about 13. BUT, I have also always struggled with controlling my weight. I felt if I was working out 15-20 hours a week I should be able to eat whatever I want. True when you are younger but the older you get, you really have to start watching what and how much goes in to your mouth.
I started thinking of food as fuel instead of pleasure. You want to go with the best most efficient fuel. Lean protein, lots of veggies, fruit and complex carbohydrates. And of course my favorite~shakeology!! With these changes, I have dropped 15 lbs in about 6-7 weeks.
I was a late night snacker on BAD foods. I thought if I made good choices all day long what's wrong with me rewarding myself later in the evening with ice cream or cookies??? Yeah, that didn't work out so good :(
It's a way of life, not a diet. Changes had to be made and I made them and continue with them. Oh, sure, I have bad foods every once in a while. I forgive myself, realize how bad they made me feel and move on.
