Weight was always a big issue to me. I grew up in Southern California and was an athlete pretty much all of my life. Family life was always filled with weekend family gatherings with lots of fun and food...especially my mom's home cooking. And if you're of Filipino decent, one could only guess what the food spread was like!

When I moved to Northern California in 1995, I was the heaviest I had ever been at 175 lbs. Luckily, I had 2 roommates who were really into fitness and over time my weight dropped to 135 lbs. I eventually moved out, finished school and got married to my wonderful husband in 2005. Over the next few years, I gained a majority of the weight back. "I got comfortable with my life..." as some would attest. It wasn't until October 2007 that I truly decided to take control of my health and decided to hire a personal trainer. In 3 months I went from 178 lbs and 38% body fat to 159 lbs and 30% body fat. Mind you, I was working for a company that required me to travel 3-5 days a week which only allowed me to only meet with my trainer once a week. Believe me, it was hard at first but with early morning hotel workouts, making a conscious effort to make better food choices, a Fitness Journal, a weekly phone call from my trainer and Turbo Kick classes wherever I could find them, I held myself accountable. Since that time, I've told myself that I'm never going back to the old me. The new me now includes working out whether it be teaching Group X classes or with my workout buddies and continuing to make better food choices.

My workouts have slowed down a little since finding out my husband and I are expecting our first child in October. Oh, yes, I still teach classes and continue my weight and cardio training. I also have somehow managed to get certified in other various Group X formats during my pregnancy and will continue to do so unless my Dr. advises otherwise. My goal right now is to maintain my health and fitness during this new phase in my life.

All I can say is that I look forward everyday to using the Beach Body products and will continue to promote a healthy and safe lifestyle for my family and friends and anyone else who may cross my path. So stay tuned and check back after October and follow me on my Beach Body journey!!!
