This time (Jan 2012), I'm working out with my daughter (above me in my pic) and her married sister & brother-in-law. So... NOW, I think I'll make it all the way through P90X!! Fit in April!

I'm an overweight athlete (tennis & golf; taught tennis at camps; played mini-tour golf) who has never had trouble getting fit as long as I'm committed... but then I lapse, again. My most fit was 126 & buff in the mid 80s (my late 20s) due to aerobics, weight training, tennis and a thoughtful diet. I typically eat very poorly (though I KNOW it) -- ice cream, popcorn, soda, etc... fast food in house & out. I'm a lazy athlete -- even when I play tennis, I'm cagey & make my OPPONENT do all the running.
In 2001 I did a mini-triathlon at 175 lbs... slowly. In 2002 -- a half-marathon... slowly.
In 2004 I was very sick and was almost reduced to needing a walker. I got better gradually over 2005, but I couldn't play tennis again till late 2006! Now, I'm back playing tennis at a 4.0 USTA. I'm also the ladies golf champ at my club and have a 7 handicap.
The variety in P90X & other Beachbody workouts lets me tailor workouts to compliment and support my other sports and daily activities. The variety helps me stay interested & motivated, and insures I won't get bored!

FYI: The following story is old info, but still accurate. I have since slacked off and am now restarting (on Jan 11, 2012)... hopefully I'll do as well as before!!!
I've been working out for almost 5 weeks now. Because of various other committments, I had to stay very functional -- no days where I was "so sore from working out" and I had to have full endurance. I won some tennis matches for my team - lost others. Won prizes in two golf events. BEST OF ALL: I recently beat one tennis opponent to whom I'd lost twice previously -- and the key difference was my improved endurance -- THANKS P90X!!!
I worked out with P90X Lean -- MODIFIED for a couch potato who still had to play tennis & golf with touch & finesse. I used 10-minute Trainer to fill in when an hour workout would be too much with my other activities. I pushed play almost every day. And everyone is beginning to notice my improvements: I've lost lots of inches (3 waist, 2 chest, 1.5 hips, .5 each arms & thighs) and about 3 pounds (but I gained with Mom visiting & friend in hospital, so 3 is good overall).
I did very little to improve my diet this past month, so I'm sure I can do much better in that area this next month. Losing only 3 pounds makes the inches I've lost even more exciting!!
TO EVERYONE: TONY'S WORKOUTS REALLY WORK!! ANYTHING you do is better than nothing and WILL PRODUCE RESULTS!! As Tony says: Do your best & forget the rest!
