That's my mantra! I've found that the road to fitness is riddled with excuses and opportunities to quit or take days off.
In the summer of 2011 I weighed my heaviest at 228 lbs. I was working out, but took days off and never really understood just how dedicated I should be to reach my goals.
A major eye opening moment came one day when I took a blood test for life insurance. I nearly got a lecture as I was being informed my blood pressure was borderline high. She kept telling to go see my doctor, but I knew I just needed to change my life. At 27 years old, I'd never imagined that's the type of shape I'd be in.
I immediately completed a cleanse, lost a lot of weight, I believe 10 pounds. And then started P90X while waiting for my pre-order of P90X2 to arrive. I was motivated, but the fast weight loss made me lose focus, I thought that was enough. I was leaner but not healthy.
I'll never forget, one day, I was home, sick and laying on my couch. I was chatting with my coach, Mike Thorp, and he pointed me to a motivational video, the message in it spoke directly to me. It was the perfect message at the perfect time, it awoke something in me that I still continues to push me today.
I didn't waste any time, changed my eating habits the same day, put Shakeology on Home Direct and started P90X2 with a new focus.
I've now weighed about 190 lbs since. I've completed P90X, P90X2, Insanity, Asylum and am now working through Body Beast.
Along this journey, I've learned its incredibly tough to do it alone, my coach and other great coaches I've met online have helped me through this.
Now that I have a clear path to my goals, I signed up as a coach as soon as the Canadian opportunity became available and am determined to help others just as others have done for me.
