My overeating is KILLING ME!! Currently that is what I am working on. Overeating has been such a constant for me for so long that I dont think I know what normal eating is, which is shameful to admit. My story is not much different than the others here. I have hid behind food for the majority of my life, been fat for the majority of my life, and have had issues with depression.
5 years ago I really took an honest look at myself and little by little have made some very significant changes. I have lost over 100 pounds, I was 280 lbs, in a former life. I am divorced, no kids. I have completly changed my diet. I a concentrate on Spinach, Tuna, Chicken, Beans, basic natural wrapper foods. I have really given up alcohol. Its been a year, and I can say I may have drank 5 times during 2009. The honest answer there, is that alcohol does me no favors, just makes me hungry and feel horriable. I also started to workout in the morning, so that was a huge change for me. I had some silly belief that I would have less energy in the morning, but as it turned out I have more, plus it set the tone for the day. I also journal quite a bit. My sticking point currently is the overeatting. I am at a point where I am thinking I have made all the right changes, but the fundemental thinking about food needs to change. The big push for 2010 is to address my food issues, and why I like to self medicate using food. I already know that I am going to make huge strides this year. Plus I am gearing up to run the Leadville 50 Silver Run. Pre-curser to the Leadville 100, which a 50 trail run at 10,000 ft in Colorado.
So I am making my way from fatso to fitness whacko...kidding. Just trying to make my life amazing!
