I'm 34 years of age and have been married to my wonderful husband for 11 years. We have four young children, whom we homeschool. We live in the midwest and just want to get in shape and have more discipline in our lives.
I've never been overweight, but I've also not made a lifestyle of exercise and being in shape. It's only because of my metabolism that I could get away with eating whatever I'm 34 years of age and have been married to my wonderful husband for 11 years. I've never been overweight, but I've also not made a lifestyle of exercise and being in shape. It's only because of my metabolism that I could get away with eating whatever unhealthy food I wanted. When I was 32, about 6 months after my fourth c-section, I literally felt my metabolism slow down. I could eat a junk-food meal and feel my jeans become a little tighter the next day.
When we started P90X, I was needing to go up to the next clothing size. I refused. Instead, we started to exercise. I am on my way down a size instead of up!
I also want to become strong. There are so many things that I need to have my husband do for me with our outdoor hobbies. I hope to be able to do most things myself.
We mostly just want to be healthy and teach our children to be healthy. We want to grow old healthy and strong. As we watch our parents enter their 60s and start to have many health problems, we've decided to do everything we can to remain strong and flexible in hopes of avoiding many ailments that commonly plague older people. We're also trying to change our diet by removing processed foods and those made with GMOs or growth hormones. An all natural, whole foods diet is what we're striving for.
We love doing almost anything outdoors--canoeing, camping with our tipi, studying wild edible and medicinal plants, practicing primitive skills. Being strong enough to help set up our tipi is one of my ultimate goals!

I've always been very thin. However, after my fourth c-section at the age of 32, my metabolism suddenly slowed way down. I found myself needing to buy larger clothes. As I've watched my parents and in-laws get into their 60s and have more and more health problems, I decided that I want to stay healthy.
On June 15, 2009, my husband and I started P90X. My goal really wasn't to lose weight (although that would be nice). I want to get strong, have more energy, develop healthy habits, and be a good example to my children. After just 2 weeks of P90X, I have lost 2.5 inches off my waist and 1.5 inches off my hips. I am just astonished at how the inches are coming off!
I'm looking forward to what my results will be at the end of 90 days. I'm also looking forward to this new lifestyle becoming a habit rather than a novelty.
