Clarkston, MI I'm 47, have two boys (Jack who is 7; and Bryce who is 5). My hubby of almost 13 years is Michael who is an absolute saint for putting up with me. I work remotely from home as a compliance administrator (quality control) for a Milwaukee-based law firm with 14 offices nationwide. Life is busy, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I’ve always been a tall one (6' 1"), but not always thin. I’ve always been an athletically-minded person, but became more sedentary after I met my husband. I do not blame my husband at all for what happened to me - it’s my fault and my fault only. I just got used to going out to a lot of dinners, eating on the fly, and becoming more and more inactive.
Oh sure, I’d work out once in awhile to try to burn off those two Big Mac’s, super-size fries, and large chocolate shake I ate; the whole package of Oreo cookies; or, 12 huge tollhouse cookies after a gargantuan dinner, but who was I kidding? Only myself.
The most I’ve weighed was 235 after the birth of my second son in December of 2004 when I was 42 years old. I was mortified that I had let myself go, but I, like others, thought pregnancy was a license to pig out and eat anything I wanted for nine whole months. Of course, friends and relatives say, “You’re tall, you carry it well,” but I knew in my heart it just wasn’t healthy and felt awful for what I did to my body.
After delivering my firt son in August of 2002, the weight I had gained while pregnant started to come off pretty good because I was eating right due to breastfeeding. (Amazing what you’ll do for someone else, but not yourself!) So, after my son weaned at 6½ months, I continued eating healthfully, but was not exercising. My excuse to not exercise? “I don’t have time with a newborn and working full-time.” (How many of us have said that one?)
Alas, BeachBody and Power90 in early July of 2003. After ordering I hopped on to the website on my 41st birthday and immediately started reading the threads. I was getting more and more psyched and got that feeling back that I used to have when competing, but this time am competing against myself. I WILL succeed, and WILL get the beachbody I’ve never had.
I did get my beachbody back in the fall of 2003 and into the beginning of 2004 by completing P90, Slim in 6, another round of P90, and then the beginning of P90X.
