I'm like many other regular guys trying out the Beachbody system to lose weight and gain muscle.
My story starts with the inspiration of a friend who lost about 50 pounds in less than 90 days using the system. I was shocked to show up at a family function and see not only the amazing weight loss but the change in energy and attitude toward life in general.

My story starts with the inspiration of a friend who lost about 50 pounds in less than 90 days using the system. I was shocked to show up at a family function and see not only the amazing weight loss but the change in energy and attitude toward life in general.
Like this role model, we both work, have wives and children. Life can get pretty hectic very fast...and if you don't watch what you are doing...it's seems overnight you put on 20-30 pounds and have lost the energy it takes to get through the day.
No more. Today, I will lose those 20-30 pounds over the next 90 days and regain the energy I lost. From there, I will build a body that will put back into triathlon form and provide better results than in the past.
Today is the day, the time is now. As my online buddies say..."It's time to press play".

My story is a simple one heard over and over again. Like a silent predator… a sedentary lifestyle had made yet another re-appearance in my life. There are no sudden warnings, no bright lights, no More ...
My story is a simple one heard over and over again. Like a silent predator… a sedentary lifestyle had made yet another re-appearance in my life. There are no sudden warnings, no bright lights, no sirens to announce this predator that affects my desire, focus, commitment and eventually the ability to work out to stay health and fit. I call this predator the “Python” as it epitomizes the slow and steady grip of a killer that reaches around you to first immobilize you and over time squeeze the life right out of you.
Many years back, I was down and out and my weight had ballooned to a little over 200 pounds. The Python had a sure hold of me at that time. After many months of diet and exercise, I took off the weight and even entered into the sport of triathlon. I vowed that I would never allow the Python to return to suck the life from my body. Like the silent killer it is, the Python returned and I found myself once again fast approaching the dreaded 200 pound marker. Fortunately for me, a friend was tuned into P90X and had shaken his Python by shedding nearly 50 pounds and gaining muscle that put a new breath of life into him.
My workout regime found me! Ten days after seeing what P90X could do, I had my own copy in the mail. I eagerly read the diet and exercise manuals from cover to cover, set up my program and got busy.
I am finding the DVDs to be vastly entertaining and a brutal workout. Let me just convey the image of rolling from back to front and back again forming a flying superman and banana on the floor. Well, let’s just say I looked more like a “fish out of water” flopping around on the floor than Tony the Superman on the Television!
Nonetheless, 30 days into the program, I am able to now complete all the moves and keep pace with the program. However, I must confess some of the moves are of modified for allowing me to keep up. Just as Tony and my Coach say…”Just push play, do your best and forget the rest”. This is exactly what I have been doing over the past 30 days and have been knocking down the pounds as a result.
My tools are the P90X DVDs, Diet Manual, Powerblock dumbbells, training bands and my wonderful BeachBody Coach (Jess) and supporting community.
My coach Jess was there every day by email encouraging me to stick to the program, making sure I didn’t give up and to press play the following day. Stories from other members were timely, inspiring and lent new air to tired legs. These tools really have knocked down the obstacles that stood in the way to the early workouts.
The program is fantastic because it’s there when I need it….I pop in the video on demand and away I go. It’s portable and can be used whenever I want it…neigh, need it. No club hours, no class schedules and it’s right there at home!
Add the daily feedback from my coach, community and access to all the great tools on the BeachBody website, and I am on my way to once again beating back the Python…only this time the progress is impressively faster! Oh and Jess…if you are reading this, I am just one pull-up away from winning our bet! Thanks for the support.
I hope to drop another 10 to 15 pounds over the next two months, develop a solid core and get back into triathlon form in the best shape of my life. Thanks BeachBody for helping me to beat back my predator!!
