I tried many different workout programs; Yoga, pilates, kickboxing, aerobics with many different trainers: Kathy Smith. Denise Austins, Cindy Crawford other less known, if it was an exercise video or gadget I bought it. I even tried many diet plans; weight watchers (taught me about portion control) South Beach (healthy eating habits, increased metabolism and got me off my carb addiction) but nothing kept me motivated or interested. It wasn’t any fun it was all hard work with minimal results.
Then I saw the infomercial for Turbo Jam…the high energy the great music and the enthusiasm and honesty I got from Chalene got me! It made sense and I had fun and best of all I could turn up the music and really jam! Not to mention my sister was getting married and I had to lose the weight. I used the tools provided, workout plan & wowy.com to keep me accountable. I fell in love and kept with it for more than 6months…I looked great at the wedding and I felt great too! Maybe even too confident because I fell off the wagon or program…no goal meant no reason to workout, right? I blamed being bored with my workouts, so I ordered more Turbo Jam, but it wasn’t curbing my overeating and lack of desire to keep working out. It was me! I hadn’t made the decision to become healthy, I made the decision to be fit for the wedding. This went on for several months and then I saw Hip Hop Abs and summer was coming so with Shaun T and Memorial day goal in mind, I got off that couch and got my groove on! I was having a lot of fun and I didn’t feel like such an 80s white girl in the club anymore…and my abs! Wow I never had a flat stomach but I could see improvements! I pushed onto level 2 and then even Rock’n Body and the fat was melting, woo hoo success!
I decided I wanted more strength and definition so I ordered P90X but I began to struggle and feel like I would never be able to complete it…I wasn’t strong enough (or so I told myself) It took me some time to accept that sometimes its not the trainer or the program it’s the mind set, and mine wasn’t set right! Lol So due to this frustration I fell off the wagon again! For almost another year, but wowy and the buddy invitations and all the infomercials out there I kept trying…little by little I was getting interested again. Then I found Chalean Extreme and my prayers had been answered…I knew I gelled with Chalene, her enthusiasm passion and honesty worked for me! This weight lifting program was shorter than P90x (Im still plan to finish P90X but Im going to work up to it…Chalean Extreme for a few rounds, P90 and then onto P90X) but equally as intense (at least in my eyes) Im nearly finished with 90days of this program…I am stronger and Ive lost inches…but the weight loss has been a slow roll of me. Again, its me! I wasn’t properly calculating what I was eating or what I was burning! Im not discouraged because I have a 45lb weight loss goal and I see improvements with my cardio and strength and regardless of the loss or not my jeans are fitting better and I feel better!
I began networking with other Coaches and joining in the trainer chats and the education, enthusiasm and motivation hit me. I wanted to be able to share what I had learned and my struggles with the world…Im not the only yo-yo out there! Being a coach gives me the accountability (and discounts and support and income) to keep on Keep’n On! I love it and I know you’ll love it too.
On April21, 2010 I will start my second round of Chalean Extreme, and this time I have more knowledge support enthusiasm and accountability! I have no doubt I will reach my goal and maintain it for life!
I want to get and stay fit, share my struggles and success and Keep on Keep’n on!
