By trade I'm an electrician. At the moment I'm an underground Electrician working at deep mine 35 for Paramont Coal Virginia. I spend a lot of my time underground but when I'm not underground I'm training or hanging out with friends and family (constantly pestering them to try my workouts as well as beachbody's).
I also consider myself an extreme althete. While it may have all started with p90x, I now enjoy Tai boxing, karate, and practicing my MMA.
I spend a few days each month practicing my skill with sparring partners and I spend a few days each week helping others get in shape.
Why do I do it? Well I do the MMA stuff to kick tale. I do Beachbody products to "Look good" (quote'n Shaun T there).
When I'm not being all active and such I enjoy spending some time each week watching a movie, reading a novel, and GASP! on occasion play video games.

There was a point in my life I weighed over 250 pounds and was very unhappy with the way I looked and felt. I dieted and completed rigorous exercise routines for about a year. At the end of that year I weighed 190 pounds and was in pretty decent shape.
Fast forward a few years, I’m now an underground electrician working for Paramont Coal (located in Virginia). I meet the girl of my dreams or so I thought and things were great. Well it turned out she wasn’t that dream girl and a year or so of depression followed. Drinking, poor eating habits, using tobacco products, etc brought me to my all time low. Not to mention I was addicted to online gaming which made matters even worse. On top of all that, although only 23 years old, I looked like I was about 30 and again I was unhappy with the way I looked and felt.
Something had to be done and I wanted drastic results. The first thing I did was quit my alcohol and tobacco use. Next, I stepped on the scale; I weighed in at 183 pounds. Then I checked my body-fat; it was about 20%. This didn’t make me feel any better about myself and I was just about to go out town and apply for a gym membership when my brother stops me and yells, “WAIT!” He then demands I pull up Beachbody’s webpage and check out p90x. I told myself, “Great, another one of those stupid workout programs.” Well first off, I was shocked when I saw the 90 Day Money back guarantee and I thought this couldn’t be for real. So I read more about the program and started viewing the success stories. I decided to give it a try.
I started p90x April 30, 2009. Let me tell you, I was in for a rude awakening. I never realized how out of shape I was until starting this. With a lot of help from God, hard-work, and guidance from Tony Horton, I sit here today writing this, a new man. I currently weigh about 173 pounds and my body-fat is about 11 and ½ %. I can run faster, jump higher, lift heavier weights, and do over 100 consecutive push-ups. I can run circles around most of the local athletes. I truly am in the best shape of my life.
The program requires weights, a pull-up bar, a yoga mat (as well as some blocks), and a heart-rate monitor for optimal results. Well I won’t lie, it is a pricey set of things, but it’s worth it. I’ve probably spent about a thousand dollars on all my gear, but it would have taken me years of going to the gym to accomplish what I’ve done with p90x.
I would like to thank God, my friends and family, Beachbody, and last but not least Tony Horton for my life changing results. I still haven’t found my dream girl, but I’m sure I will.
