Hello I am Coach Scott. I am in my mid forties, married with two children. I work at more than a full time job. Keeping fit was a real challenge for me until we found Beachbody. My wife and I both follow Beachbody fitness programs and love their nutritional supplements (I can’t imagine going a day without Shakeology). I can easily say that I am more fit today than I was a decade ago. We are so

A fews years ago I had a turning point in my life. It was on my 40th birthday. I felt like I was turning 100 years old! Not only was I getting roasted by my friends about my age, but I felt old. I had recently tweaked my back playing with the kids. I had pinched a nerve and the pain shot all the way down into my leg. I could barely walk. To make matters worse, I was fighting a bad cold. Honestly, I was getting sick more often. I was in a rut. It was hard to believe I led a very active life not more than a decade prior.

A lot had changed in my life as I got older. As I got more successful at my job, my responsibilities increased and so did my hours of work and stress level. During the few hours I had away from work, I was focused on my family. By the time my kids went to bed each night (I love them dearly), I was so sapped of energy that all I could do was flop on to the couch and turn on the TV. As time passed my fitness level evaporated and it felt like there was no end to the down ward spiral.

Looking back, I can say now that turning forty was the best thing that happened to me. It was a turning point in my life. It was then I decided to start exercising regularly again. My initial goals were simple. One was to touch my toes. One of my harder goals was to run in a 10 km race. It doesn’t seem like much, but I had quite a few inches to go before I could reach them. The goals may not seem like much, but they were enough to get me started.

The Beachbody programs; such as, P90X and Insanity fit perfectly into this plan. I love the balance of aerobic, strength and yoga for a complete workout. The nutritional supplements have also been great, particularly the Shakeology and the recovery drink. They help me recover quickly from an intense workout and make sure I am getting the nutrition I need so I can go hard the next day.

It’s been a few years since my 40th birthday, but I can tell you that committing to a fitness program has been well worth it. I feel like a cloud has lifted off of me. I can’t remember the last time I had a cold. I have more energy and more zest for life. I feel younger than I was five years ago. My goals have grown significantly. In August 2009 I completed my first Ironman! I couldn’t have done it without that decision on my 40th birthday.
