My transformation story is still being written, but I will share my journey up to this point. Weight was not an issue for me when I was young, but, like many girls, I thought I needed to lose a few pounds when I was in high school and college. (I wish I was that size now!) I grew up on a dairy farm so I stayed in shape simply by working on the farm and playing sports.

As an adult, my weight has gone up and down. The pounds slowly began to add up when I had my three children. I worked out regularly off and on, but wasn’t able to lose the weight until I went on a low carb diet several years later. I kept the weight off for a couple of years, but by then I was nearing 40 and things started to change. (Can anyone relate?) My body wasn’t responding the way it did before and I gained the weight back. It was at this time that I learned the importance of using weight resistance so I added weight lifting to my exercise routine, along with walking for cardio. I also purchased Hip Hop Abs (fun!) and did that occasionally to add variety. I lost a few pounds, but I had to work hard for every ounce of it. I am now a couple of years past 40, and things have changed once again. Over the past year and a half I have gained the weight back, even though I exercised regularly. I’ve heard that the midsection changes as you age, but I refuse to give in to that. I believe that I can lose the extra weight and get my energy back. I obviously needed to change things up to get the results that I wanted so I am now using the Beachbody fitness programs on a regular basis. I’ve done a little Hip Hop Abs, Turbo Jam and Power 90, and recently began P90X. I am having a blast so I know that I won’t get bored with the exercises, and using these programs allows me to exercise daily around my schedule. I already have more energy and I’m working toward getting into the best shape of my life. Stay tuned…
