Fort Worth, TX I was born in Fort Worth, TX and am 27 years old. I have always been self-conscious about my weight. I had a lot of "baby fat" growing up, but lost it when I joined the swim team. I swam competitively through high school and was active in several other sports, but my weight was always up and down.
When I graduated high school in 2002, I moved to Lubbock to attend Texas Tech. I gained 50 I was born in Fort Worth, TX and am 27 years old. I have always been self-conscious about my weight. I had a lot of "baby fat" growing up, but lost it when I joined the swim team. I swam competitively through high school and was active in several other sports, but my weight was always up and down.
When I graduated high school in 2002, I moved to Lubbock to attend Texas Tech. I gained 50 pounds(cafeteria food and beer) during my first two years. I went from about 130 up to 180! I was miserable and moved back to Fort Worth in 2004. I was able to lose the weight and ended up getting married and having a baby, but gained 70 pounds when I was pregnant with my daughter. I was 196 when I went into labor, and to my disappointment did not deliver a 70 lb baby ;)
In September of 2009 my husband and I separated and I began my fitness journey. I was a pack-a-day smoker and incredibly unhealthy. When I stared running, I could barely run across the street before I keeled over and started hacking up a lung. I kept at it, quit smoking, and in November of 2009 joined 24 Hour Fitness, where I began to take Group X classes (shout out to Aubrey Warren!!!) in Yoga and Pilates and also started working with a personal trainer. In February of 2010 I completed my first 10K (without stopping btw!!!!) in a little under an hour. I went back to school to begin to complete the nursing degree that I started at Texas Tech in 2002. And I became a personal trainer myself.
Today I am a different woman. I work out daily, whether it be running, swimming, weight training, mountain biking, or chasing after my now 4-year-old daughter. I have a passion for health and fitness that I know will only increase in the years to come. I am in better shape than I have ever been, but continue to set goals to get to a point that I never dreamed possible. I now know that ANYTHING is possible!!!!!
