I was and still am way to overweight, topping out (at my biggest) at 471 lbs! I was diagnosed last Sept (09) as a type 2 diabetic, and knew then that I had to change my life. Well needless to say being diagnosed with that disease scared me straight...for a time, about two months. Gradually I found myself getting right back into my old eating habits of A LOT OF SUGAR! Thats my weakness, SUGAR, I was and still am way to overweight, topping out (at my biggest) at 471 lbs! I was diagnosed last Sept (09) as a type 2 diabetic, and knew then that I had to change my life. Well needless to say being diagnosed with that disease scared me straight...for a time, about two months. Gradually I found myself getting right back into my old eating habits of A LOT OF SUGAR! Thats my weakness, SUGAR, LOL=)). So with a combination of not taking my meds regularly plus eating a lot of sugar still my blood sugar level shot thru the roof! I was averaging (granted this is my average which means it was way over this) 489! Since Sept I have lost a total of 150 lbs because of all the water I was drinking due to my out of control sugar.
I wasn't telling my doctor that I stopped taking my insulin, because I was thinking "Hey this is great I'm losing all this weight". It took my doctor to tell me one day, that in the thirty plus years of his profession he's NEVER seen someone with levels as high as mine. He was shocked that I was still alive. Well that did it for me, I finally told my doc that I wasn't sticking to my diet, as a matter of fact sticking to anything, meds included. That's when the proverbial light bulb went on for me I knew I had to change because it meant my life if I didn't.
So I've been taking my meds everyday like I should and decided I need to get in peak physical shape. So that brings me to today, I'm waiting for my resistance bands to come in that I ordered so I can start my Power 90 program. I'm SOOOO ready to change my life and finally get my body as well as my mind in perfect sync. So any and all help, advice, tips, concerns and solutions will be warmly welcome! Time to....BRING IT!!!
