My Photos | JimmyH I was first introduced to Beach Body and Million Dollar Body earlier this year. As with many people my story is probably nothing new. In good shape in high school, went to college gained a few pounds, exercised and lost a few pounds. I would say that preparing for my marriage twelve years ago, I realized that I started to gain pounds again and then kept gaining as the years went by. It didn’t I was first introduced to Beach Body and Million Dollar Body earlier this year. As with many people my story is probably nothing new. In good shape in high school, went to college gained a few pounds, exercised and lost a few pounds. I would say that preparing for my marriage twelve years ago, I realized that I started to gain pounds again and then kept gaining as the years went by. It didn’t seem to happen overnight however the jeans would get tighter then I would have to buy a larger pair and this kept happening and happening. It seems like I meet so many people and the conversation usually takes the direction of “I have to lose a few pounds”. Well that “few pounds” has now increased to 30 or 40 that I need to shed. I could go into all of the health problems my family has faced (heart disease, diabetes, you name it) however I have chosen to focus on what needs to get done and do it as aggressively as I can. Over the years I have ordered the preplanned meals, nearly starved myself and even found myself eating nothing but tuna and apples. It should surprise no one that weight did come off however it came back with a vengeance and I would find myself weighing more than I did when I started the cycle (fat – diet – off diet – fat again). They say that to succeed, you first have to take a step in the direction that you want to go. I took that step earlier this year and signed up as a coach. I felt that this program would allow me to begin losing weight while traveling for my job. I am a salesman who travels extensively and even though I signed up for this program in March and had the best of intentions, I found myself doing absolutely nothing with it. I realized like anything, if I don’t make the commitment it will never happen. I joined this program for a couple of reasons: 1 – I needed a program that was “real”, something that made sense to me. I am the biggest pessimist in the world and yet this program promoted the system of being in shape and not a “magic fitness pill” so to speak. 2 – My personality is one that needs a community around me that is easily accessible and I also need to be a contributor. I find that if I am encouraging others then I too will be even more motivated and I will ultimately reach my own fitness goals and that is why I became a coach. Again, I unfortunately did very little for the first few months after becoming a coach. After reviewing the information, I simply tabled it. I did relatively nothing with it and lost, well, relatively nothing. Now I can go into all of the reasons on why I did nothing the first few months however, I have chosen to look ahead and realize that the choices we make now will affect the future and if I choose appropriately, my quality of life will only improve. So how did I get on track with starting my fitness transformation? Approximately a month ago, my wife was given the green light from her doctor to begin exercising (she had back surgery which did not allow much in the way of activity for 3 months, not to mention the lack of activity prior to surgery for obvious reasons) . She decided to get serious about getting back in shape. I started noticing that she was on the Million Dollar Body website quite a bit and approximately 3 weeks into her Program, she dropped 11 pounds. I also started looking at pictures of my extended family and me from the past (Prior to major weight gains) and looked at current pictures and realized that our love for food and our lifestyles have put our lives on hold. One personal example is that I can’t stand people taking my picture due to the fact that I do not see myself as large as I really am. In fact, I could have put a before photo on here that would probably show the true shape I am in (you know, shirt off and shorts) however as motivated as I am to get in shape, I still am a bit nervous about publishing those pictures. I have taken the pictures to be able to judge my progress however I have chosen to put in a current photo where I am in slacks and a shirt. The pictures I am looking forward to publishing will be after I reach my goal. Again, I realized that it is time to make a change. So I have put the plan into action (no more analysis paralysis). Like I said, I took pictures a couple of weeks ago, became a coach earlier this year, joined the club (because through inspiring others and getting into the best shape of my life, my goal is to win the $250,000 in the contest) and have successfully completed several sessions in WOWY. I am a regular guy, helping my wife to raise a family and am looking to make some positive life changes. For a great future, I have started taking steps now and the core to having a great future is taking care of the ONE body that I have. If my story resonates with you, feel free to contact me. My goal is to inspire you, not sell you on anything except getting in shape, becoming part of a powerful community of support and sticking with a plan to reach your goals. You have probably thought about certain fitness goals for years but have not had the proper tools or support to succeed. If you do choose to take advantage of becoming a club member or feel inspired enough to become a coach today or down the road, I would be happy to inform you on how to get involved in those areas as well. It took me a long time to get to this point, I am now here and happy to guide you to success. I am on the plan – watch my transformation! October 30,2008 -> After gaining much of what I lost (Oh yes with the usual excuses), I decided to kick it up a notch. Today October 30th, 2008 - the day before tons of candy and chocolate come raining down, I decided to stay NO. No to the garbage and no to the temptation. It is now time to make this happen and I will not fail. I have taken my pictures again, dated them and filed them. My goal is to show my progress at the end of the year. Between now and then, I will be actively helping others to hit their goals. 11/08/08 -> Approximately 1 week later -> I have utilized P90X and have found that it is the most intense system, I have used in years. Many times I have had to stop 30 minutes into it and still feel as though I have really worked harder than I had in the gym. I have not recorded my results yet. My initial goal is to make sure that I am following my diet and keeping on schedule with my exercize. I am anticipating recording new stats 4 - 6 weeks into this. 11/12/08 -> Alright, I had to do it. I am feeling lighter, so I weighed myself and checked my fat %. 12/20/08 -> Checking stats... 01/06/09 - > Still progressing and now I have several people who are coaching with me and creating their own stories - cool stuff!
