I've been working out "regularly" (4-6 days per week at times) for over ten years now. Half of that time, I've been frustrated that my body doesn't seem to reflect that externally even if I feel and More ...
I've been working out "regularly" (4-6 days per week at times) for over ten years now. Half of that time, I've been frustrated that my body doesn't seem to reflect that externally even if I feel and know I'm healthy on the inside. I've done most types of workouts- gyms, gym classes, bootcamps, paid for higher end "specialty" gyms (ie. crossfit, boxing/kickboxing, yoga) all of which I threw myself into.

I've had awesome (and a few not so awesome, lol) personal trainers, nutritionists, and a couple of amazing "gurus." I've starved myself, done liquid diets/cleanses, and paid for things including Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, LA Weight Loss, the Special K Diet, etc. All to get obsessive, doubt myself control, and STILL not feel very healthy or see many changes.

In 2008, after finding a trainer who was very holistic and balanced in her approach, I got greedy. I found a not so holistic trainer & spent, God knows how much $, and spent four months eating THE SAME EXACT foods over and over on a quest for "six pack abs" for my 30th birthday (which, by the way, was TOTALLY unhealthy!). My goal was to be in the best shape of my life. . . yeah. I KNEW better. That process KILLED my metabolism and my spirit leading me to spend two years trying to lose the chubby layer that seemed to accumulate across my body.

ENOUGH. Thanks to my Dad who bought me P90X for Christmas 2009, all that is done. I am using lessons I have learned from my past and all of the things I've tried, and "doing this on my own." No more money to have other people tell me what to do, no more gyms or gimmicks. I am dedicated to Pressing Play and seeing what I can do with support from online friends and coaches!

90 days on P90X got my me back to my healtiest level, back to a fit and healthy body. Every Beachbody workout I've done since has continued the progress. My goal is to continue to eat clean (85/15% RULE), workout not much more than an hour a day, six days a week (no more insanely long workouts or beating myself up), and keep an OVERALL healthy balance! :)

Becoming a coach, sharing the info I've obtained and learned over the years, this is MY WAY of paying it forward! The sense of community and accountability in Beachbody has done for me what YEARS, a decade(!) of trainers, gyms, and beating myself up alone couldn't quite do. Beachbody has empowered me to take control of my health! Finding friends to stay motivated with motivates me, it's a beautiful cycle!
