Good Morning/Afternoon,
Welcome to my page, and thank you for stopping by to learn a little more about me. I am 36 years old, prior military and I now work for the Government in sunny Florida. I have been a part of the Beachbody Community for a few years now; I started off with Slim in 6, then moved on to P90X. I got great results with Slim in 6 and didn’t get to finish P90X, I think I was in the middle of the second month back in 2008 and had to deploy overseas. Since then I have been “off and on” with my workouts, more off than on I think. But I have always come back to Beachbody. I just love the sense of community and the fact that people are so willing to help out when needed.
This past year I have had so many things happen in my life, some of them wonderful and some of them devastating. My 2011 started with the unexpected death of my beloved Granny and then moved along with the deaths of 3 more friends and family members throughout the year. It was a tough time, and I let my nutrition and fitness slide downhill drastically.
In July of this year my Son graduated high school (woohoo), and then promptly joined the Army, while I am very happy and excited for him the house is empty and very quiet without him and his friends running around. September 6th he graduated from Army Basic Training and we traveled to SC to watch his Graduation ceremony, it was a wonderful trip! However, upon arriving home I put my little SC memory card into the computer and wanted to upload the photos to Facebook….Let me just say those photos were an eye opener!!! Who was this person standing with my family? It didn’t look like me!
The day after looking through the photos I weighed myself for the first time in months (maybe years) and the number astounded me....182 Pounds. While this may not sound like much to some, this is the most I have ever weighed in my life. I decided then and there to begin Insanity as soon as possible. Monday the 10th of September I took the Fit Test and haven’t missed a workout since!
I have even ran a few Obstacle Course Races to include the “Savage Race” and while it was hard, I know Insanity helped me through it allot. Running up and down huge dirt mounds all I could think was “High Knees….get those knees up!!!” One more week and I will be done with this first round of Insanity. I can’t wait to be able to submit my story and get that coveted Shirt!!!
When you find yourself giving up, and you need a little push, just put on a little Shaun T and Dig Deeper!
