I am married to Scott, who is a wonderful supportive husband. Nursing is my chosen profession, but currently am a stay at home mom. I have 2 kids - one is 18, the other is 2. Yes, I know there is a big age gap - and yes, I am crazy.

Started working out doing "step" on a regular basis when my son - he is the 18 year old - was 6 months old. Have been working out since then most of the time, mixing up step with Body Pump and Turbo Kick Boxing, but after the birth of my daughter (she is 2) I pretty much stopped working out, that is until P90X. Was able to lose most of my baby fat with weight watchers, but was not totally satisfied with the way my body looked. I knew that I needed to work out for two reasons. Working out would tone me up, and it would make me feel good. The feel good part is also two fold. You feel great during and after a workout due to endorphins, and having your clothes fit and look better is a great ego booster!
Even though after my daughter turned a year I was able to stay at home, that did not mean that I was able to go to the gym. I did make the attempts and after the 4th time of being called back to the kids club because she wouldn't stop crying I just gave up. One of my friends was training for a race and was doing P90X. He talked about how great it was. I originally got it for my son, who is going into the Marine Corps. I saw him do a couple of dvd's and thought, I can do that. Now I have finished my first round of P90X lean, and have started a second round, this time with some P90X+ thrown in for variety. I love the fact that I can do this program when my daughter is taking her nap (lucky for me she is a long napper) and that I can do it at home.

In my first round of P90X I had very simple goals. Stick to the program. I worked out every day, even if sometimes it was 10pm before I got started. The only time I missed was when I had a cold - and then it was only one day. To be honest, I didn't get as good results as I hoped for, but I did get results. I lost 2 inches off my waist (yeah!), 1 inch off my hips and 1.5 inches off my chest. My stomach muscles are definitely stronger and more defined than before I started - thank you Ab Ripper X and Core Synergistics. I just would have like to have seen more arm muscle definition. I have this crazy dream for my arms to look like Angela Bassett's in "What's Love Got To Do With It?".
I am currently on my second round of P90X - with some P90X+ thrown in. To get the results that I want I know that besides pressing play I need to eat better. This holiday season has been hell for that. It is time to throw out the bad stuff and read up on some new healthy yummy recipes. It is not only working out with your muscles that gives you results it is also what you give your body to fuel it with. Apple pie and chocolate chip cookies, while delicious, just help to keep the ring of fat that you are working so hard to get rid of. Ah, sometimes I hate logic.
