I'm over 40, about 5'4" and roll around the 120lb -130lb area in weight.
I'm fairly fit (generally speaking - which might not be saying much). Nevertheless, feel like I could be, and want to be, so much better!

Our diet is pretty good, leaning toward paleo. We changed that about 7 years ago when we went gluten free and then later, mostly dairy free, and experienced such huge health improvements that we've never looked back. In fact, at 42, I feel better than I did in my 20s or early 30s just since changing our diet.
So, now that our food lifestyle is really cemented into place, it just makes sense that the next step would be a fitness regimen.
The reason I chose P90X is because of the many different routines involved. I tend to get bored easily doing the same thing every day. So, doing something different every day just suits my desires much better. I'm also a fairly intense person, so the intensity of this program really appeals to me more than a 'nicer' program.
I would be happy to build some noticeable muscle and want to be a lot stronger. I want the muscle and don't really care about weight.
I'm a relatively happy wife and mother of three homeschooled children. Life can get pretty hectic. However, I'm tired of feeling like, if I needed to, I couldn't do anything effective to defend myself. And I'm tired of having a "Mom" body. Mama wants some guns! I love that rounded shoulder that I see P90Xers sporting. :)
My image issues actually stem more from the condition of my stomach after three different pregnancy and birth scenarios, two of which were c-sections. Today is April 26, 2009. I just finished taking my beginning measurements and am looking forward to this lifestyle change with some trepidation but enthusiasm that WE CAN DO THIS too.
30 days (approx.): I love being able to sit up suddenly without having to use my hands to push myself up. I notice this kind of 'ability' improvement in my general life almost every day.
40 day (approx.): Lost about 1" off my waistline. Still a fair bit of skin and stuff there though. Because of how good I feel, I have upped the ante and have added 2 or 3 cardios to my week.
Day 45: lost 1 1/2" total off my waistline
Day 71: lost 1/2" in off my thighs (which aren't very big to begin with but were definitely flabby to begin with).

I'm doing full pushup a fair bit of the time now and love the feeling of power that comes with that ability!
I can complete ARX now (and sometimes get in a few more mason twists - my favourite thing to do) but my leg climber form is horrible.

Week 2: Got some glutamine, creatine and whey. Face broke out which is unusual for me. I suspected the whey since I have dairy sensitivity and cut it. Broke out again so dropped the other two also for the rest of the week.
May 10: Did my first successful pulse up in Ab Ripper! All the way up onto my butt! Going into Wk 3.
DVD #1: Chest and back is the one that makes me nauseous.
Did full vit./min. regimen in smoothie and 1/2 doses of glutamine and creatine today since I'm around 125lbs maybe a full dose it too much for my system.
Day 30: Happy to be able to sit up easily without having to use my hands to push myself up.
Day 40: Decided to add an extra cardio workout 2 or 3 times per week.
Day 45: Lost about 1 1/2" from my waist. Still a lot of skin there though, so I was surprised at that.
