"BEACHBODY is the best thing that has ever happened to me."

That is a quote from me and I've honestly lost track of how many times it's come out of my mouth (or posted on Twitter). Here's my story. I went through all of high school too afraid to try any sport, but that does not by any means mean I wasn't athletic. I grew up in a very active family, raised by two parents with a get-up-and-go mentality. I went on my first hike through the Rocky Mountains in Colorado before I could talk. That being said, I have a very anxious nature about me (I still do) - being surrounded by extremely athletic siblings and best friends steered me away from any opportunity to play a serious sport as a teenager. I found my own nich in 9th grade when I began to jog around my neighborhood, slowly upping my pace and endurance. Soon I was running five days a week and it became a permanent part of my life. Of course there have been months at a time where I fell off the wagon, but I found running to be the one constant in my life. Anyone can run, and no matter how long you go without it, stamina can easily be built back up with a little training. I found that physical activity in my life kicked my anxiety in the ass and allowed me to challenge myself. So I really thought I had it all. I thought I was fit and happy and I was. But then, Christmas 2010 came along and one of the last presents I opened was Tony Horton's P90x. My life changed. Think I'm being dramatic? Try it and then get back to me. Honestly, the brilliant idea of "muscle confusion" tested my athleticism in a way I never thought was possible. I started the program with my Mom and Dad and as weeks passed we became stronger. Stronger cores, stronger shoulders, stronger legs, stronger mentally, stronger people really. Our results were incredible and the benefits were infinite. Soon after my Dad and I registered for a half marathon and finished with flying colors.

So there's that. There's P90x, the best thing that ever happened to me. That is what I thought. Until I bought Insanity. After I came home for Christmas break and saw my Uncle Mike's belly had completely vanished (His answer? "Insanity. It's the best thing that ever happened to me.") I just finished my first month of it today and, although I have been to afraid to try, I'm pretty sure I could fly. Here in this moment, I feel more fit than I have ever felt in my entire life. The first week sucked, I'm not going to lie. I was in awe that the first ten minutes of the workouts are "warm ups." I was sweating buckets by the time I got to the stretch in the middle of the workout. I hated it. But I loved it. And my love only grew as I struggled through the workouts. The struggling subsided and I began to look FORWARD to pressing play every day. Shaun T is incredible and I owe much of my current state of bliss to him. I haven't completed the entire 60 days yet but I can only imagine what strides I'll have made by the end of next month. Do I recommend BeachBody products? Ha. If you want a clear road to a beautiful physique and revitalization enter yourself in this competition with yourself. I did, and let me tell you: I freakin won.
