My Photos | Kristindl I don't know where to start. I have always been active and although at times my weight has gone up and down I have never been heavier than what I am today. I was the second oldest child in a family of 7. There were 5 girls and 2 boys in my family. My parents were wonderful examples of encouraging all of us children to stay fit and active. We spent most of our free time camping, hiking, I don't know where to start. I have always been active and although at times my weight has gone up and down I have never been heavier than what I am today. I was the second oldest child in a family of 7. There were 5 girls and 2 boys in my family. My parents were wonderful examples of encouraging all of us children to stay fit and active. We spent most of our free time camping, hiking, boating, , hunting, and fishing. I was a tomboy growing up and so this was a wonderful life for me. I have always enjoyed the outdoors and staying active. My mother used to run 5 miles a day and as a youth my dad set up a rule that we each needed to run at least 2 miles three days a week so that we could keep up with our family hiking trips. We would hike a 17 mile trail at least once every summer on top of our many other hikes. I will be married 20 years next June. I have tried to stay active and fit my entire life but I have really struggled over this past year. I turn 40 next year and although I work out 3-5 days a week, I have continued to gain weight. I love to cook and I have had the privilege of traveling quite a bit around the world with my husband for business and have had the opportunity to be treated to many wonderful restaurants. As I approach 40 my metabolism has slowed down and the food that I enjoy eating has slowly been adding the pounds. I am the happiest when I am in a size 6-8. I am now in a size 12 and I am not happy about it. I look at pictures of myself and don't even recognize myself. I feel healthy inside but I look in the mirror and know that I am not healthy. My cholesterol has started to rise and I really don't want to be on medication. I have never been obsessed with getting on a scale because I do have strong muscles and knowing that muscle weighs more than fat, I have used the way my clothes fit and my clothing size as the gage. I have done many fitness programs. I did Body for Life a few years ago and was one of the top 100 finishers. I felt so good after that program but I slowly reverted back to my old eating habits and work-out habits. Three years ago, I became a distance runner. I ran 3 marathon's in just under a year and due to some injuries and the time commitment I haven't kept it up. I love how I feel when I am fit. I hit a plateau and although, I run, walk, use an elliptical, do a step aerobics routine, swim or bike I am not seeing any success and I am not being consistent. I met a very fit man recently at my daughters cheer gym and he asked me if I had heard about the P90X program. I said that I hadn't but that I was interested in it. He proceeded to share a little about his journey and how this program has changed his life. He also said his wife was doing it and that the two of them were in better shape now than they have ever been. I was extremely interested in it. He gave me the web-site and I have been investigating this program and I finally committed to start. Today is the first day of my new journey. I want to become fit and healthy and lean. I am committed to do this. I want to look at myself in the mirror and like what I see and recognize the person looking back, I also want to see myself in pictures and feel happy. I want to like myself again. Today is a good day. I start the P90X program today. My husband and I were only able to have one child. She is a gift from God and we treasure her each day. She has a much different personality and interests than I do but I have always encouraged her to stay active. She has been on a competitive cheer team for 3 years now and she has also gained the love for being fit. My husband is interested in starting the P90X program but he hasn't committed yet. I am a stay at home mom and I am also a dental assistant and will work part time. I also have an art back-ground and love to paint. I have work part time doing interior decorating for others using different paint techniques. I love to read and I am involved in two book groups in my area. I also volunteer at my daughters school and I am a team mom for her cheer squad. My Progress My fitness goal: Transformation story

I am so excited to enter my journey with the P90X program. I am thrilled with the results that I have achieved by following the diet and pushing play every day for 90 days. When I started this program a short time ago, I was so discouraged and did not like to see myself in a mirror or in photographs. I am so happy now. This program has given me back my spark. I had a goal to lose 20 lb's and I acheived it. I am toner and stronger now than I have been for years. I may have been able to fit into the same sizes three years ago but I haven't been as toned overall. My arms and shoulders, my back, my abs, my hips, thighs, and legs are all much more toned after completing the first 90 days of P90X. I have more energy and more endurance now then when I was 29. Even when I was training and running for my marathons, I was never as fit over-all. My legs were strong but my core muscle strength and upper body was lacking. This transformation for me has been incredible and it is only the begining. I still have more that I would like to achieve. I love how I feel and I love how it works. I will continue to push play. Another blessing for me is the accountability. I new that I had to log in each day when I did my work-out with WOWY. This made a huge difference for me. I loved seeing so many others who were on their own journeys and yet they inspired me to stay on track. This was hard but yet the transformation kept me motivated to stick with it. I am so excited because I do fit into size 8 again. I want to continue with P90X and I have just recieved "Slim-n-6" that I am going to start out using too. My new goal is to be able to fit into a true size 6. I am getting there and I know that if I stick with the diet and excercise that I will acheive it. I have so many people that I know that comment to me that I look so good and they are so impressed with my success with the program I am doing. I know that many of them are going to get it and use it for themselves. I have a sister who is a distance runner and she will continue in her passion for running but even she has been impressed with my success. She has been coming over once a week to do YogaX with me because she has seen the benefits of doing yoga for her own fitness. My husband is thrilled with my success and he keeps telling me that he wants to start. I will try to help him get going so that he can be healthy and fit like myself. My daughter says that she is proud of me and she has even joined me in a few of my work-outs. It is nice to be an example to her and show her that it is so important to be fit at any stage or age in life. She has even told me that she has enjoyed many of the "healthy" meals that I have been preparing while doing this program. This first 90 days is just the begining for me to continue on this path of fitness and health. I would encourage everyone to try it out for themselves and if they really stick with it, they will have more success than they ever imagined.
