Four years ago, I hit my all time heaviest weight of 185lbs. I have always had problems with my weight. I would lose weight and feel good and gain it right back. I never did it the "right way" and in turn, never had lasting results. After stepping on the scale and seeing how high it was, I decided I had to do something, and quick! I had just reached the point where I knew I had to do something about my eating and lifestyle habits. I saw an infomercial for Turbo Jam and instantly ordered it within minutes. Literally! I followed the workout and meal plan and within 4 months had lost 45 lbs. I felt great and got my sister hooked onto it as well, and she lost about 28 lbs. It wasn't easy, but I was determined and continually pushed myself to keep going and never gave up. After struggling with my weight my whole life, I've learned that consistent exercise and healthy eating habits are key. I now weigh 135lbs and still include Turbo Jam into my regular routine. I love the cardio dvds. They're fun and different and keep me motivated to keep pressing on. I am so comfortable in my own skin now. I was never an outgoing or confident person. When people look at me or talk to me, they can't believe I was overweight or super shy. Today, I am totally different person, and it comes from all the hard work I've put in and the new way I perceive myself. It makes all the difference in the world. And I can finally, at 29 years old, confidently wear a bikini!
Two years ago I decided to get my Personal Trainer Certification. I now do In-Home Personal Training and Group Fitness Classes. I love what I do. I am very passionate about health and fitness and living a healthy lifestyle. It is very fulfilling when you reach a goal. And now my job is helping others set and reach their goals. There is no better feeling than being right beside someone every step of the way, seeing their journey and watching them transform and become then best they can be.
Last October I entered a fitness bikini competition in New York. It was on a whim, but I hired a coach and worked hard and walked on stage with confidence for the first time ever. I placed 11th, but I was so proud of myself that I had enough courage to go out there and do it. I am currently training for another contest in August, so I will keep everyone posted!
