Hi Gang! I currently work in the Las Vegas casino / hospitality industry at one of the top premier destination resorts in the world – the 5-Diamond Bellagio Resort. My background is in finance, strategic planning and business development, with 25 years of experience with large corporations and smaller entrepreneurial startups.

I was born in the East but got to Colorado as quick as I could … which is where I’ve spent the majority of my years … I still call Colorado home. Four years ago we moved to Las Vegas … me, my wife and our daughter. While Las Vegas has grown on us, we miss the mountains of Colorado as we love the snow sports and the serenity of the majestic Rockies. I am a baseball nut and can tell you most any historical statistic of the game. I will even stop to watch little leaguers play if out for a walk or at the park with my family. I am a life-time season ticket holder of the Colorado Rockies. My beautiful wife is a stay-at-home Mom, and has the most important job of all … taking good care of us … and … home-schooling our daughter.

My daughter and I are involved in Tae Kwon Do and we workout at Cory Martin’s Karate for Kids studio. She is currently a green belt in the kids program and I am a 1st Degree Black Belt and Assistant Instructor. I am certainly not as bend-able as I used to be years ago, but I help out where I can.

I am a fitness buff and have been my entire life. We all have an obligation to take care of our bodies. This has become even more important to me as I’ve gotten older, as I want to be around a very long time for my family and see my daughter’s life. Yet it’s become increasingly more difficult to “fit” fitness in as you get older, but with the ever-increasing stress levels that come with today’s world (economic situation, raising kids right, keeping kids safe) you really have no choice. It’s a decision. Then you turn to the best option available, which is why I love P90X and INSANITY … extreme and efficient workouts all done from the comfort of your home … with world-class fitness experts to help you achieve your fitness goals.

As a new 50-something, and having always had a strong competitive drive, I am intrigued about the possibility for competing for World Champion with our national taekwondo association, the ATA. Competition and rankings are based on belt rank and age. My personal goal for the next year (ends June 2011) is to compete in ATA karate tournaments around the country, with the ultimate goal of World Champion. A nice side-benefit of this is my family will be able to travel with me as we visit new places. I am told once this time is behind us, a good goal for the following year will be a long vacation in Hawaii (my wife told me this!).
