My name is Mark. I’m a 47-year-old electrician, very happily married for 23 years, and have four children ranging from 14 to 22. In football season, I’m a college and high school referee. Unfortunately, my stripes started becoming wide and round instead of long and narrow (not a good look).

In my younger years, while skiing (water and snow), bowling, and playing softball I never had a problem keeping fit. I hovered around 180-185, but in the last 15 years or so, with the cut back in my physical activities and my “40 something” metabolism naturally starting to slow, I found my weight (and mid-section) increasing. Unfortunately, I compounded the problem by still eating like a growing boy instead of a middle-aged man. The scale said, “227.5” – it was time for a change.
Last Jan 1, 2007, after going through a Christmas treats’ weight explosion, I made a resolution to officially give up eating all candy (especially Skittles, of which I am particularly fond). By mid year, ice cream and sherbet were also off of the treat list, but the elimination of treats alone didn’t change my body size. The next step in my transformation came one late night in mid-October while watching a P90X infomercial. It made a lot of sense, but I knew I wasn’t yet ready for that intensity. After going on-line, I purchased Power 90. I officially weighed-in on October 30th and began pushing play on Halloween. It was the first Halloween that I can ever remember not having at least one piece of candy. Now with help of Power 90, and pushing play six days a week, I have actually started to increase my metabolism, increase my strength, and drop lots of pounds. It feels good to be going in the right direction.
Day 90 update: Completion of Power 90! Unfortunately, I can't even do a quarter pull-up, so I'll be continuing Sculpt 3-4 for at least another 30 days while implementing negative pull-ups.
Day 120 update: Still losing weight and lowering my body fat %. I am able to touch the pull-up bar with my chin, but not over it yet, so another 30 days of Sculpt 3-4 with extra negative pull-ups.
Day 150 update: My best month to date. I've lost lots of pounds/size and I can now do 2 ¾ pull-ups! Just a little more sculpt 3-4 and I'll be ready for the "X"
Day 180 update: Did 4 pull-ups! Am beginning P90X(lean).
