Well.....here goes. I've been using on and off Beachbody products since 2002. It all started with Power 90. I've never made it the full 12 weeks with that program - 9 1/2 is the farthest I've ever gone. Since '02 I've been up and down - yo-yo'ing with my weight. Fast forward to the fall of 2007. I've never made it the full 12 weeks with that program - 9 1/2 is the farthest I've ever gone. Since '02 I've been up and down - yo-yo'ing with my weight. Fast forward to the fall of 2007. I'd been feeling goofy for quite a while. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas I found out I had high blood pressure. When I went it was 178/124. I was 29 years old. EEK! I didn't think I it was that bad, but family dna does play a part in this. So I went on the bp medicine. After 2 weeks I finally started feeling normal again. Knowing that I didn't want to be on this stuff for life, I started dieting again, so once again back to Weight Watchers I went on 1/5/08. In February 2008 I got engaged to my Fiancee and we decided on a destination wedding in the Caribbean (March 2009). Now I had more reasons to get the weight back off (I was at 221 on Jan. 5th). By March I had found a part time job Mon-Fri cleaning offices (still hadn't actually started exercising yet) and used this with my Weight Watchers as my regime. By July I was down 35 lbs. I had also plateaued. So I started digging in my DVDs and passed on Tony (sorry Tony, I was bored with the routine as I always fell back on my P90) and decided that I should finally give Chalene a try (Had those DVDs since, oh, 2004 or 5 I believe and never used them! What a great work out routine!). Oh I forgot to mention that on 7/25/08 I went into the doctor to have my BP checked because I was feeling woozy, found out my BP was fine, but my cholesterol was at 201. HDL was 40 and LDL was 142. Time to step it up. So on 9/1/08 I started with Turbo Jam and also started running. I'm currently on my 11th week of Turbo Jam and have run for about 10 weeks. I did a 5k this fall after 8 weeks of training and ran it 32:15.9. Not too bad I think. I have a goal of size 10 for the wedding. My dress I ordered in August was a perfect 14 and since then I'm able to get into a size 12. I've currently lost 43.5 lbs and am at 177 lbs. I'm 5 lbs from moving from "overweight" to "normal weight range" for my height (5'10). So, long story short - I'm 30, I've lost 43.5 lbs, toned up, engaged and working on my bikini body for the wedding. I'm getting there slow but sure. I just ordered the Turbo Jam elite videos and am waiting for them to come in the mail. They should be here next week and that is week 12 of the first level of Turbo Jam. Starting 11/17/08 I'm stepping it up and moving on to the next level! I've also found from due diligence - I HAVE to exercise daily or now I get cranky! I actually LOVE exercising now. I honestly never thought this day would come! Definitely a lifestyle change! And the exercise has done wonders for my stamina when hunting with my Fiancee - I don't get winded anymore! Go Beachbody!

Since September I have shed 55 lbs through Turbo Jam and most recently the P90X program! In the last 10 months I have shrunk 4 sizes, improved my cholesterol, maintained my blood pressure (with some assistance from pills, which I'm trying get off of). I've gotten more energy, stamina and strength! I can do ANYTHING! Your whole outlook changes when you take care of yourself. I just recently ran an 8K (first one ever, that's 5 miles folks) in 51 minutes! HUGE accomplishment! It's so exciting to see what other things I can accomplish - health related or otherwise.
Being on this journey is well, a journey. You have a starting point and throughout it you learn many things. You learn that the cravings for junk food do actually go away. You learn that you do actually feel better eating healthy. You notice more so how terribly others do eat (consciously or not). Then it's the little things - like I just realized how much space is between me and the seatbelt now. Not that there wasn't room before, there is just more now. How you like to wear shirts that show off your arms, that you SMILE more often. People compliment you and those that are serious will ask you how you did it in hopes that they too can make a life changing decision!
P90X for sure - best decision I've ever made in my life. I'll be an X'er till my grave. Although I'll still try out the other programs for fun and to spice things up a bit.
So be like me - start slow and enjoy the progress and write your transformation story. It's a great feeling!
If you have any questions, just e-mail me! I'd love to hear from you!
