As a typical energetic boy, I attempted to leap over tall buildings in single bounds. Subsequently, I received my share of bumps, bruises, and stitches. At the age of 13, I initiated my back problems, when one of my legs went between two springs on a trampoline. After this, the weak muscles in my back would sporadically pull my vertebrates out of alignment, resulting in pinched nerves, pain, and headaches.

In high school I was on the wrestling team. Then on my college Rodeo Team in Tifton, Georgia I rode “Bareback Broncos,” and they occasionally road over me. While I had a blast with these experiences, they didn’t do much on improving my back muscles.

While in the Air Force I acquired Carpel Tunnel in both wrists. And now have Tendonitis in my right shoulder.

In 1998, long before I discovered BeachBody, my activity level began to decrease, although my food intake level, did not. I began to eat my meals, while commuting from one job site to another. Very seldom did I exercise. Then in my early 30’s, my metabolism slowed down, and my eating habits began to rapidly catch up with me. My energy level decreased and my body fat increased significantly. Over the next decade I went from a 32” waste to 41”, and gained over 40 pounds, hitting the scale at 232lbs. I found it difficult to do some of the activities that I formerly enjoyed.

This last year it started to seem like no matter how much I slept, I always remained tired. I would find myself drowsy behind the wheel, or any time I sat still, for an extended time. So, at my last physical not only did my doctor say that my cholesterol and blood pressure were borderline; I was also diagnosed with sleep apnea (a disorder that is characterized by stoppages in breathing during sleep). Now, I use a CPAP machine to adequately sleep through the night.

I felt like I was getting old, fat, and stiff, way, too, soon. I seemed to have very little energy, not even enough energy to play much with the kids.

One day a close friend of mine, Dan, was talking about the P90X® workout that he was getting ready to start. I was pretty certain that P90X® would be too much for me, and that I was, just, to out of shape and out of condition. Then for about a week or two, I listened to Dan talk about the P90X® workout. Dan’s daily input was the catalyst that drove me to decide that I had to do something, too. Right then and there, I made a commitment to myself to try one of Tony Horton’s programs. With my busy workday and 5 kids, I'm a little pushed for time, so Dan suggested that I should try Tony’s 10-Minute Trainer® series.

I ordered it and eagerly awaited its arrival. I knew it would be a difficult challenge, but with the BeachBody Team behind me, I believed I could do it!

I'm, beyond, ready for a change. In the past, I've started to try and loose weight and to get in shape. "Something" would always seem to happen and I'd fall off the "Healthy-Exercise" Wagon, again & again! I believe this Coach/Team concept is just what I need, to help me get past the setting of Goals and start Striving for and exceeding them. The condition my body is in, is unacceptable. Going back to my old body isn't good enough. I want a better body....I Want a BEACHBODY!!!

My Goals, My Aim:
-To lose 40lbs and be able to do 50 push-ups and 20 pull-ups
-Strengthened back muscles (my Back to work as a Team, not playing tug-of-war)
-If possible, reduce or eliminate symptoms of Tendonitis, Carpel Tunnel, and back-related Headaches
-eliminate my sleep apnea and the need for a CPAP machine
-decrease my cholesterol level and blood pressure

My Transformation Log:

04/16/09: TMT hasn't arrived yet. So in the mean time, I'll start out with some Cardio exercise, on my Lunch breaks.

04/16-17/09: Worked out with Tony & the Kids

04/18/09: Worked out my friends DVD: P90X®/Core Synergistics

04/20/09: Day 1: I officially began 10-Minute Trainer® Deluxe “Accelerated Results” Chart, today. It’s time to Bring It!

05/13/09: Day 24: Wasn’t feeling well on Days 22 & 23 so took a break on those days; tried to make up for it today. So I skipped my “Rest Day” with Yoga Flex & instead I stacked: Total Body 2, Core Cardio, Upper Body, and Abs. Boy-O-Boy was that a Workout…..shwhew!!!!

05/26/09: Day 37: Had to make up for Memorial Day’s high Cal. intake and no workout. Woke up at 5am & Slapped PLAY. Did TMT: Lower Body, Core Cardio, Upper Body, Ran/Walked 1 & 1/2 miles, and then finished it off w/ Yoga Flex. Oh, do I ever…hurt-so-Good!!!

05/28/09: Day 39: Still feeling it from Day 37. It’s amazing how much more flexible I am because of Yoga Flex!!! I am getting “so” close to being able to put my nose on my knee. It shouldn’t take much longer. My wife keeps telling me to update my picture, so I’ll try to take one soon and get it uploaded.
