For the last 10 years or so, I was a software consultant, specializing in ERP software implementations (sorry for the geek-ese). A lot of time was spent on the road living out of a suitcase, and eating out for every meal. I have since gotten married to my husband, Roy, and settled in a full-time, non-travel position at one of the larger software companies here in the Seattle area. I am also a part-time student at Washington State University, attending all my classes online, and slowly, but surely, finishing my degree in Business/Management Information Systems.
My company offers the benefit of paid club memberships to a variety of some very excellent local fitness clubs. I tried to make an effort to find the time to get there, but with my work & school schedule (as well as trying to fit in ‘home’ time), I just couldn’t fit it in. I have always been an infomercial junkie, and bought my first set, the original Tae Bo, many years ago. Many purchases, and many starts & stops later, I found Turbo Jam. Not only is Chalene the most motivational instructor I have ever worked out with, but this program is just plain fun. So now, regardless of the time I have I find a way to either fit a Turbo Fire, ChaLEAN Extreme, or one of the many other systems I have, into my day.
Finding this Beachbody site, and becoming a coach, will have a huge impact on the completion of my fitness goals, and I am looking forward to sharing my progress along the way. I work best in an environment where I am accountable to others, and I find satisfaction in not only seeing myself succeed, but knowing that my story and/or support will help others to achieve their goals as well.

When I turned 40 last year, I was at the heaviest I have ever been. At only five feet two inches tall, you can really see when I have a few pounds on me, but at that point, according to my BMI chart, More ...
When I turned 40 last year, I was at the heaviest I have ever been. At only five feet two inches tall, you can really see when I have a few pounds on me, but at that point, according to my BMI chart, I was at the top of "overweight" bordering on "obese". That killed me. I grew up a skinny girl - 91 pounds when I graduated high school. All the sudden I didn't know where all that weight came from and I was still that skinny girl, but trapped in what we refer to as a "festively plump" body.
I started getting serious about my health and fitness again this last spring when we discovered my father has lung cancer. Talk about scared straight! I have since adopted a healthier eating lifestyle, and cut white flour, white rice, white sugar, and artificial sweeteners out of my diet. With diabetes in my family history, as well, I think the lowered sugar intake will only benefit me as I get older.
I also started working out again - I have started and stopped so many times before it's not even funny. Turbo Jam and Chalene have been a huge influence on my life - I have since started ChaLEAN Extreme and love the transformation it is making to my body. I find it very similar to changes I saw when working out with a personal trainer during the fittest years of my life!
Another huge motivator for me - I joined an online support forum where I participated in a weight loss "challenge". I never would have thought strangers met through an online forum could turn into such supportive friends. Now as a part of the Beachbody team I get all the support I could ever want from an online family!
Since making this lifestyle change last summer I have successfully lost 20 pounds, and now know that I have the ability to continue down this path and complete my goal (and get into that closet full of size 4’s!!!).
