I was a skinny, active kid until about age 12, when I started working (and constantly eating) at an ice cream shop. I was about 30-50 pounds overweight through my teens and as a college student. Though I carried the extra weight, I became very interested in health and fitness at a young age, and remember reading "Fit for Life, the Diamond Method" at 12 and developing a diet workout I was a skinny, active kid until about age 12, when I started working (and constantly eating) at an ice cream shop. I was about 30-50 pounds overweight through my teens and as a college student. Though I carried the extra weight, I became very interested in health and fitness at a young age, and remember reading "Fit for Life, the Diamond Method" at 12 and developing a diet workout schedule. At 17, I joined a gym and continued to study health and fitness, which would become a lifelong hobby for me. My weight would fluctuate by 20 pounds every couple years, as I would medicate the stress in my life with food or alcohol. I got used to having three different sizes of clothes on hand at all times.
Over the last couple years, my fitness routines lapsed and I now feel very unfit...I used to be able to run five miles, or do an hour workout on the elliptical...now, my metabolism has just about died and I rarely have any energy. I don't eat that much, but I carry an extra 30 pounds because I've stopped exercising and have a sedentary lifestyle.
My goal is to turn that around and get back to the active person I used to be. I want to focus on healthy eating, metabolic engineering, losing that 30 pounds for good and having an abundance of energy and enthusiasm.
