I'm 25 years old in the sunny Orlando, Florida. Since moving here just over 6 years ago, I have been driven toward a state of overall well-being through fitness and nutrition. I have an AA degree, BS in Sports and Health Science -Athletic Performance, and a national personal training certification. For the past several years I've worked in the theme parks meeting some fantastic people. Currently, I work in management in the spa and health club industry. I am at a turning point in my career, however, where I would like to help people achieve their goals without the struggle that I have had and have seen others experience. Fitness and nutrition did not come easy to me at first. I began high school rather sedentary and unfit. I was embarrassed of my body but didn't know how to improve it. Thinking I'd improve by changing my diet, I lost about 35 pounds very quickly -too quickly. Without realizing it, I basically starved myself. After that realization, I decided to change my life forever. That prompted me to focus my education on fitness and nutrition. I truly believe that these create the foundation of a happy, fulfilling, and bountiful life.

Back in high school I was about 5'11 and 185lbs -and not much of that weight was lean muscle. I was husky, not extremely overweight, thankfully. I was embarrassed of how I felt and looked, still. I decided to cut out all my sodas, juices, candy, and other poor food choices. I drank as much water as possible, thinking I could trick myself into feeling full. Without realizing it, I basically starved my body for a couple months and dropped about 35-40 pounds. At 145bs, I looked sick. Again, I was upset that I didn't look and feel how I wanted to. There came one point where I just decided I needed to make a "real" change, educate myself on the right diet and exercise, and change my life. I am hypoglycemic and also have hypothyroidism. These two conditions used to be roadblocks in my life. I came to realize, however, that the correct diet and exercise can improve these conditions. I've come to know my body, know its needs and its responses to different things. This is all because I realized I had to change. I had to be responsible for this body and this life, and take care the best I can. Fitness and nutrition have gone from a hobby to a way of life. I've become passionate about helping others realize and work toward their goals. I don't have a picture of me in high school as the "husky" teen, but my "before" photo is the super skinny ME, not knowing how to balance my diet and exercise. My arms were tiny and I was weak. While I'm still working to fulfill my fitness goals and transforming myself, the "after" is a current picture of me, and I think it shows a bit more that I've balanced my weight better with lean muscle and that I've filled out overall. I hope to post more detailed pictures in the new future.
