Hello! I am a 36 year-old single Mom of a teen-ager. Besides my duties as a military officer, I am the President of my son's high school PTA, an active Sorority member, a VP of a mentoring organization, a student in the War College Master's degree program, and church member. I love cooking, scuba, running,shopping and decorating and my 4 pets (1 Lab, 3 cats).

People always seem to think that I must be in perfect shape since I am in the military. Frankly I was in excellent shape early in my career but I’ve learned the hard way that without healthy eating and consistency, it does not matter how much physical training you do!

Years ago, I stayed in shape by conducting daily, structured physical training with my unit. I ran a lot - motivated by the Trainer’s yells and by my own desire to “Set the example.” You see, in the last 4 years, I’ve been a staff action officer who has had the option of doing PT “on my own.” Though I had the "know-how," I lacked the consistency. I became bored with just running and doing push-ups, sit-ups, and making infrequent trips to the post gym. And now I am 25 pounds overweight! I gained the extra pounds slowly – about 2-5 pounds tacked on every year. I wasn’t concerned much because I “made weight” and passed my Physical Fitness tests. So, I continued eating whatever I wanted - making sporadic attempts at a personal fitness program. I had not realized that I was in trouble until I noticed the fatty pouches just above my knees along with the fullness in my cheeks. Once while moving to the dinner table, I felt my tummy jiggle! Yuck! I remember sitting down and feeling my stomach rest on my lap...Then I’d just complain, “I’m getting fat!” Then my sweetheart would always tell me that I so was "fine." So I continued to excuse my physical changes away by saying, "Oh, I'm just getting older." But more often than I was comfortable with, my clothes were a little too snug. I stopped going out because I did not have anything to wear. I'd go to try on new clothes and always had yell outside of the dressing room for a larger size – but then they still did fit well. So I'd just walk out empty-handed. Cute fashions just seemed to lose their appeal on my ever-expanding frame. So I stayed home and hid my full figure underneath the uniforms and boots.

STARTING THE PROGRAM… Knowing that an Officer’s image inspires confidence in their leadership, I knew I had to take action. Because I didn't have the confidence in myself! Fortunately for me, I somehow came across “Dimples Debbie” and scanned the “before/after” photos in the “Slim in 6” commercial and decided to go for it. Yes, I stumbled the first couple of attempts but I reasoned, “Hey as long as I'm not dead - I can try it again.” So this time, I had the bright idea of letting my teen age son take my photos. Oh boy... You can imagine how I felt when I saw the disgust on his face. So I promised him (and myself) that I was going to make a change. So despite my hesitation, I posted the pictures and went to work. I still cringe every time I log on and see them!

I absolutely love the videos. I also appreciate the energy boost I feel after taking the supplements. One day while looking for additional Beach Body products, I ran across the million dollar body contest and the WOWY site. At first, I thought selecting a success buddy online really wasn’t a big deal but I quickly found out that it really does make a difference! I think it is because I really hate to make promises to someone and not keep it, the WOWY interactions have truly helped me to maintain consistency in my workouts. Isn’t that funny? I always seemed to break promises to myself but I did not want let my buddies down! You see, not only are they my "Success Buddies," they are my "Battle Buddies." And I will not leave them behind! I frequently asked girlfriends and sweetheart to join in but what I love most is when my son does the workout with me and sees how hard I’m willing to work to reach my goals.

Soon I will leave this staff assignment and head back to troop leading. When I do, I will be fit, more determined and fabulously ready! Just by pressing play!
