Well I have just completed my first round of P90X and the results are in …..14lbs gone ! 9% body fat gone !! waist = 3.5” gone !!! Needless to say I can now fit into my 35” waist jeans. This was indeed a life changing decision not only to work out but to eat healthier. It certainly wasn’t easy but it was well worth it. I am now a Beachbody coach and would love nothing more than to help people turn the corner and get in shape !!! I will begin my 2nd round of P90X in mid-Feb. My ultimate goal is to complete 3 rounds of P90X in ’09 !!!
UPDATE – Started round 2 on Feb. 14th April 14, 2009 Day 60 round 2 Changes are becoming more noticeable, Each workout gets a little easier every time through !!

Well it all began one night while watching those infomercials that I decided to go for it. I was in my mid 30’s not getting much exercise and eating terribly. I was so excited to begin but unfortunately the timing was not to be.
The P90X dvd’s and pull-up bar sat in my closet virtually untouched for more than a year. Finally this past Oct. I had a routine doctor’s appointment. I stepped on the scale and was startled to see that I tipped the scale at nearly 200lbs !!! (197) That was it something had to be done, and that was where I made the decision this was the day to start P90X. So on Oct. 31,2008… Halloween was my day 1.
I am not the typical P90X candidate; I have Asthma along with Cystic Fibrosis, so it is quite difficult for me to breathe at times. I suppose that I am guilty of using those as excuses in the past, but not this time. I went through the whole pre-test routine where you see how many pull-ups, push-ups, wall squats ect. You can do, needless to say I couldn’t come close to doing the minimum of hardly anything.
I am not the type of person that just goes with the flow when you tell me I can’t do something, I enjoy proving you wrong. It may take me some time but eventually I will accomplish my goal.
My first two weeks of P90X were brutal, I was sore and exhausted at the end of every workout. I could not even do one pull-up in my first week !! 10 push-ups was a complete struggle! I had no idea what my threshold was as far as my heart rate went, so I had to modify the workouts quite a bit. I made a pact with myself to never pause the workout as Tony suggests throughout; rather I just stopped with 10 sec left or when I began to struggle. I figured that would help me so that I could get used to Tony’s pace instead of stopping and starting several times. The start of week 3 I began to notice a difference….I was able to do more and I wasn’t as sore. I was very encouraged by this, and started looking forward to coming home and working out.
One of the benefits (if you wanna call it that ) of C.F. is that I barely ever sweat…I can be on the beach in 90 degree sun and barely break a sweat !!! As I got more comfortable with the program I got my heart rate up between 130-140 with minimal sweating. This didn’t apply to Plyo as I got my heart rate up to 150-160 and sweat more than I ever have in my life during these workouts !!! My doctor compares my lungs to those of a 60 year old man who was smoked for 30 years !!! So it is very difficult sometimes as I cough a lot when I begin to breathe fast. I have learned to deal with it quite well actually.
Fast forward to day 90, I have not visited one single fast food rest. Drank one sip of pop, no beer or alcohol, and have been eating plenty of fruits and veggies !!! I am able to do 4-5 pull-ups and 15-18 push-ups !! I know your probably saying to yourself that’s it ?? Well sometimes success doesn’t come as fast as we want it to…..Tony Horton has helped motivate me like nobody else could. I know it’s not about how many you can do, it’s more about getting off your $#% and just doing something !!! Although I do wish I could keep up with Tony and his 30 pull-ups and 50 push-ups (and I will someday) but I’ll take my progress for now and keep pushing play!!
Thanks, Mr. Horton
