I am the proud father of two wonderful girls and my wife and I have been married for 26 years. I will be turning 50 in 2010 and I am looking forward to being in the best shape of my life. For the next 60 days I will be using the new "Insanity" program to "Bring It". Can I really get supersonic fit at 50 with this new program? Let's see!

And what about my wife? She has been there with me

A few days after my 48th birthday in February of 2008, I
awoke very early at 4 AM and I just knew I was not going to
get back to sleep. So I got out of bed quietly to not
disturb my wife and went into the family room to watch
television. I started flipping channels and came across
this intriguing P90X commercial. The trainer, Tony Horton,
was telling me that he had developed a serious fitness
program with the help of BeachBody. This was no ordinary
fitness program and Tony said the only way to get into shape
was hard work and diet. Wow, that was a first for an
infomercial. No crazy gadgets, no weird machines; just
simple weights and a common sense diet. I was sort of
hooked the moment I heard the truth in those statements.

As impressed as I was with the infomercial, I am always the
skeptic. I had to do some research before I would spend any
money on an infomercial. For one week I checked out any
comments on the internet about P90X. I could not find any
negative reviews. Everyone had had success that stuck with
the program. So I told the family I had found myself my
birthday present and I was going to get into the best shape
of my life. I ordered P90X.

I had been a runner in high school and a fairly decent fun
run participant in college. I continued to run after I was
married, but my new career as an accountant left me little
time to workout the way I wanted. Then came the children
and the demands of family life. I had managed to stay in
fairly decent shape, but I had gained 15 pounds over my
college weight and my strength was not where it should be.
My own routine was limited to a little yoga and running. I
looked forward to Tony Horton and P90X to provide me with
the latest knowledge about "extreme" training methods and
give me the results that I wanted.

Finally, I ordered P90X for my wife. She had been diagnosed
with very early breast cancer that required some surgery and
six weeks of radiation therapy. She had healed quickly from
the surgery and was going to begin radiation therapy in
March. We were told exercise would probably help fight the
fatigue she might feel from the radiation and it would help
her keep a positive attitude. My wife met the minimum
physical requirements test for P90X and we started the
program. Holy Cow! Those first few weeks were tough. We
were sore but not injured. We kept the program faithfully
and we started seeing results. But the biggest gains were
not so much a change in our bodies as a change in our
endurance and strength. And my wife did not get fatigued at
all during radiation. The doctors were impressed and I was
very proud of my wife for "Bringing It" during this
difficult time.

We finished our first round of P90X exactly right on
schedule. We had fun and learned a lot together. Now we
are ready to help others with this challenge. Thank you
Tony Horton for your inspiration and helping us learn what
it means to "Bring It".
