I am a working mother of 5 (18, 17, 7, and Twins that are 3 yrs old) I had
always been an athlete in HS and College. I was played Volleyball, Softball,
Hockey, and kept in good shape. After having my first two boys I was back
in shape in no time, the pounds just came off right away, my heaviest was
about 130 lbs. But with my third son it was very different. I gained about 55
lbs and although it was a challenge to take off the extra weight, after giving
birth my weight stayed at about 150 lbs. My weight was not a high concern
at 150, but then I received a surprise! I was pregnant...with twins!! I knew
that I would gain some weight but we did not forsee any complications.
Unfortunately, the complications were there and bedrest was needed for
about a month, my sciatica was no longer tollerable. Needless to say the kids
were fine, but I walked out of the hospital at an alarming 220 lbs. I was
seriously depressed at that number and decided that I was going to do my
best to get back to 150 lbs. at least. I started to buy the at home gimmicks,
every new fad workout, I got down to 190 lbs in 2 years. I'm still not sure it
was the gimmicks the starving myself or the pills but it was a depression
filled rollercoaster. I even had my thyroid tested three times to make sure.
But instead my doctor told me to "keep exercising, get off the diet pills
(which were causing my heart palpitations), and not to worry, at my age (38) I
was bound to retain more weight". I hated that answer, because all I had to
look forward to was to continue being fat. I didn't want to accept that I
joined the gym, started eating better, cut out most of the fast food, drank
more water, and started to substitute my meals with shakes. My twins will be
4 in that means if I continue doing what I am doing I would have lost 15 lbs
in two years. I dislike being fat immensely, but I hated it more when I worked
out so much and gave up so much and still have no great results to show for
it. I am looking to do something extreme. I saw the P90X infomercials,
where I got all those other bright ideas for losing weight. But I saw what
Tony looked like and he didn't promise and easy fix, a magic pill or potion,
just hard work like when I was in HS or College. I don't mind working hard
but I want to see results. I'm going to take this challenge cause I have
nothing to lose and everything to gain. It would be great to feel good about
myself again. I have good days, when I now that I made a dent but I can do
better, I can accomplish anything. I'm ready to BRING IT! See you in 90 Days!
