I have a petite bone structure, was never overweight growing up, and have always led a pretty active life. At 5'6", I barely weighed 100 pounds when I got married. After two children (and 2 C-Sections), I became dissatisfied with the gradual weight gain I noticed each year and decided to try to exercise more. I had gone from a size 2 to size 6 when I first tried Curves, a program for women where you go on a circuit and do the same exercises each day. I went 3 days a week but found that I actually gained weight (granted, some if it was muscle) and still was not back in my favorite jeans. I then cancelled my Curves membership and decided I would join the local gym as I was wearing a size 8 in some pants. I went on my lunch break 3 times a week and did the same basic routine ( 35 minutes on the treadmill or elliptical machine and alternating leg and arm weights as well as crunches). I still didn't see any real results but figured that , if I stopped, I would really gain weight. So I just kept doing the same thing week after week even though I was frustrated that I was giving up my lunch breaks and not really seeing any results. After a summer of several wonderful but calorie-laden vacations, I weighed in at 128lbs.. which was close to my weight when I had my first child! Everyone still said I was little, but I was just not satisfied with the way I looked in a bathing suit. I was also tired a lot. My husband ( Claymore ) had seen the P90X commercial and was intrigued with the program. I watched as he started getting up before 5 in the morning to work out and how he quickly began to see results. I decided to first try bits and pieces of the program and started doing CardioX, Plyometrics, Kenpo, and Ab RipperX 3 times a week at home on my lunch breaks. After just two months, I was losing weight and pant sizes. I was excited and wanted to do more, so my husband convinced me to do the P90X program as directed and to not be concerned about becoming too muscular. This was in late January and I have been doing P90X ever since. I completed the 90 day program and even before the end, I was down to 114lbs. and in a size 2 pants! I then tried the Lean Routine. My husband became a coach and I now plan to try some of the other programs to get even more variety in my work-outs. I am wearing a bikini again and love shopping since I am back in the sizes I wore in college. I have more energy and less stress. I even have some upper body strength I never had before. I have started eating more smaller meals during the day and really enjoy the Team Beachbody protein bars as a mid morning and late afternoon snack. I am also using the Team Beachbody Recovery drink after my work-outs as well. I hope you will consider Team Beachbody's programs and will be as psyched as I am to see the results that can come from muscle confusion and not doing the same thing every work-out.
